Hopefully Hughes wont get himself into to much trouble! And anyway, The ref had no right to send him of! Outrageous decision and Bellamy wont be available for Wednesday which is a bit of a blow but hopefully Robinho can show what he is made of and put in a performance.

"Manchester City boss Mark Hughes has confirmed he has been asked to explain his comments regarding Craig Bellamy's sending-off against Bolton Wanderers.

Bellamy was dismissed during City's 3-3 draw at the Reebok Stadium on Saturday after picking up a second yellow card for simulation.

Referee Mark Clattenburg adjudged Bellamy to have dived just outside the penalty area following a challenge by Bolton defender Paul Robinson.

Television replays suggested there was contact from Robinson, causing Bellamy to lose his balance, and Hughes was unhappy after the match.

Hughes described the decision to dismiss Bellamy as 'laughable' and 'ridiculous', and he has now been asked by the Football Association to explain those comments.

"What I said at the time, I stand by that," said Hughes, who has until 22nd December to respond to the FA, on Sky Sports News.

"By all accounts, the FA have sent a letter through asking for my version of events, so really I can't discuss it any further.

"My statements are on record from the weekend."

Bellamy will now miss City's trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night and Hughes admits the Welshman's absence will impact on his team.

He added: "Craig has been one of our top performers this season and to miss him for any game is a blow for us.

"But we've got good quality that can come in and no doubt make an impact."

It really does. I can't understand why if the ref admitted his mistake Hughes is being investigated for his words and most of all why Bellamy remains banned.

If I was Hughes now i'd explain my comments in an interview on sky sports news for the world to hear stating that I am happy to stand by my comments and that the standard of referreeing in this country is not what it should be, and that the FA are protecting the officials instead of the interests of good clean football.

I'd also state that there is no punishment, fine or touchline ban that could make me feel sorry for stating the truth and i'd appeal to other managers to start vocalising their aggrevances on all occasions.

Until Referee's are held accountable for their mistakes/cheating they will remain such a poor standard which is only bad for the game.

Personally, I'd tell the FA I was only only making public what I overheard taggart and Arsene Wenger say in conversation.
I would add that I thought Mr Clattenberg did a good job considering his poor eyesight, low IQ and lack of morals.

I completely agree, this need for the FA to have an investigation into everything a manager or player says is killing the game and taking away the passion of many fans in my opinion. I used to love the football we saw many years ago, even it is was a bit raw...it certainly was better than the sterile shit that gets served these days. Yes the players, pitches, stadiums, etc are better but the game is dying a slow death from these men in suits having to find something to meet about on a Monday morning to keep them in a job!!

An "own goal panel" ffs......in the past if there was any doubt it was automatically awarded to the striker as the defending player didn't want it anyway!!
