Training 15/12 Tuesday

Postby Douglas Higginbottom » Tue Dec 15, 2009 1:05 pm

Not much to tell after another session behind the iron curtain, as was yesterday. Whilst yesterday it was mainly those who hadnt played on Saturday , today was the full squad or at least all the fit ones. Definitely missing were SWP and Bridge but in the fleeting glimpse I got I couldnt be sure Nigel was out. I think he was.

Judging from all the banter behind the fence the spirit is brilliant. I decided to hang around and chat to a fellow blue as it was clear that some free kick practice was lined up for later as mannequins had been set up as a wall on the nearest pitch. They only trainied for an hour and the Tevez,RSC and Garrido came out to practice edge of the box free kicks whilst Petrov, Kompany,Bellamy,Weiss did some shooting practice inside the fencing. Weiss was out on Monday as well so clearly fully recovered.

Tevez is definitely getting a taste for free kicks and getting better. RSC should practice finishing and not free kicks and Garrido as ever looked good. Bellers joined the free kick group later and also shows that practice makes better if not perfect.Onto pens at the end and I just wonder if the pen taker is sorted now!!!!

No doubt off by train to London this afternoon hence the slightly shorter session and no chance for a chat. I think I will have to wait a little longer before any chance of getting to watch the fenced off training that's if it's ever going to happen.

I feel dead sorry for Javier Garrido

I hope someone comes in for him in January or we just get him out on loan somewhere

He's too good (and too young) to not be playing regular football. He takes a damn good free kick too

As hard working as he obviously is, Garrido wont get back in first team, be it left wing or left back. He just isnt good enough and would be better at Wigan (Spanish connection?!)

Athletic Club de Bilbao is the rumour I last heard, but who knows?
