where have you got this from mate?

On there site apparently the "ballot" (wtf?) was announced today?

Carling Cup semi-final 2nd leg
One United Members can now make an application for tickets to see Man Utd in Carling Cup semi-final 2nd leg action against Manchester City on Tuesday 19 January (KO 20:00 GMT).

Members wishing to make an application can do so online or by calling 0161 868 8000 until 08:00 Friday 11 December. Ballot results will then be made available from Monday 14 December.

The deadline for Season Ticket holders to opt-out of purchasing a ticket has now passed.

Season Ticket holders choosing not to 'opt-out' are advised to monitor their bank accounts from the 7 to 9 December to ensure that payment(s) are processed and access cards are credited correctly.

Due to the visiting team's ticket requirements, all Season Ticket holders seated in East Stand Tier 2 who haven't opted out of the Carling Cup will be automatically relocated for this fixture and will receive paper tickets.

Hospitality is also available with prices starting from just £99 + VAT. Call 0161 868 8000 for more information.

I am amazed that GMP have allowed them to do this

If they really are on open sale then.....well, it's a bit of a recipe for disaster IMO

I know that us and them are hardly Millwall and West Ham.....but on the basis that this year's Carling Cup already has a glaring example of what can happen if you put local derby tickets on open sale...well I'dve thought the Police would be making every effort to ensure a robust segregation. Especially in light of the fact that you don't have as much visibility into who is actually in the crowd this way.

Madness

Funny in terms of what it says about their "fans" though

Midweek games at the Swamp dont appeal to the soccer 'tourists' who fill it every weekend.

Where I used to work two of the girls, on different occasions, went with their blokes up to Scumland, where they did a bit of shopping, stayed the night and went to the match etc as part of this ballot rubbish. Just like a weekend break to Edinburgh or something, which happened to have a football match in it (for the husband).

I just couldn't believe it. Neither would've known which team was which, or what a goal is. Fucking ridiculous but that's how they fill it.

Towards the end of the last game against Spurs, I spotted 7 or 8 housewives in the front row. This gives very strong support to your post John!

Fking Joke club, Joke Fans.....lets see if they fill those 19,000 empty seats. I imagine they'll offer tickets at low prices to get Harry from Halesowen, Nick from Newquay and Mike from Maidstone into the ground.
