As you all probably know, I'm no big admirer of Bridge. Now seeing Sly in our team makes me realise that Bridge is definately not good enough. Sly was quality for most of the game. always covering defensively, great going forward. Didn't misplace a single pass and actually put a fucking foot in.

He has been there and done it at the very highest level, so that does make you think he can be the player we need. I really hope you are right about him. I would also like to see his presence in the squad bring more out of Bridge.

I think one game is a bit hasty to judge any player though. With Bridge's injury, Sylvinho is just about guaranteed a run of eight to ten games, so I'll wait and see how he has done then.

That said he did have a good game after the first twenty, twenty-five minutes. Mind you to be fair to him the whole team were wank for the first twenty minutes.

He did a really good job on Saturday. Especially considering he hasn't played a competitive match in over half a year!
What I did like about him was his composure all the time.

In my opinion Bridge has been rather good this season. But if Sylvinho puts a string of good performances in I wouldn't hesitate giving him the left back spot for good.

Looked more confident that Bridge in the oppositions half, and his control and passing were impressive. Also did a brilliant obstruction to slow up a 3 against 1 Bolton break, fouling smartly emough not to get sent off when he'd been left in the lurch!

God I thought it was only me that had noticed that. Just the right amount of interference to stop the guy without actually body checking him. I thought it was balletic.

He was good apart from being nowhere near where he should be for the first goal....and WB would have been crucified for that.

Personally I think that all our defence will ultimately prove to be "good enough" players.

I would like to sign another good defender who can cover cover CB and RB and just give them all time to become a unit.....throwing another stranger into the mix (no matter how good he is) in January does not guarantee a better second half of the season defensively and it's a bit naive to expect it to IMO

Yes, he should have done better for the first goal, no excuses. Bridge continuously fucks up, everyone is allowed 1 fuck up.

I really liked his performance... people can say he was at fault for their first goal.... well it was offside and should not have counted....

Either way, he looked very confident and his passing and tackling was great imho.

Let's hope he still has the legs to play this many games.
