Looking at his appearances he has come off the bench for 3 short spells when the Rags were already winning and once when they were drawing but went on to lose after he came on.
Then the Sunderland game where he was nowhere until a quite simple finish followed with a not so extraodinary volley. Then all this hype, why?
Think you're doing the lad a disservice there Beefy mate. The first was a good, confident finish and the second was an extremely good volley, brilliant technique.
Ye's he's been massively overhyped but that happens to any half decent young player. Let's not pretend we wouldn't be getting very very excited and calling him the next best thing if he was one of ours.
And for the 'why all the attention?' bit. The same could be said of Michael Johnson.
I don't think I'm doing him a disservice mate, it was 2 decent shots, not 2 world class goals. It's funny that you should say it was 'Brilliant' though, and that's where we differ. If the lad was doing it on a regular basis then I'd say,'Yes, this lad maybe the real deal' but he's only done it in
one game. And as I say, this is where we differ.
I have nothing against him, he's a young lad trying to break into the higher echolons of the footballing fraternity and like MJ, I wouldn't put him on a pedestal until he'd proved his worth. The difference here though is that MJ actually played a few games before the hype started.
I suppose we're in similar positions now though, us back then and where they are now, looking at the slight glimmer of hope that they've uncovered one of Englands finest just to keep the soul warm on those dark, cold winter nights away at Stoke.
