So this means he's out for our four away games West Ham, Moscow, Chelsea, Newcastle, then Nowrich and possibly CSKA home leg as well?

Is this the same injury as last time?
Definately a few weeks out before a week of getting back up to speed.

It looked exactly the same as last time, the way he pulled up and walked off said 'groin', but I think we should resign ourselves to a longer lay off this time because he's obviously come back too soon the last two times he's returned from the same injury.
My thought is that whatever they've tried so far, it's not getting fixed so might require a more serious procedure that will have him out for longer but fix him good and proper.
All this back in for a few games then out for a month routine is not good for anyone. I'm accepting that we won't see Vince until Christmas and I just hope that Demichelis is back to full fitness quickly is all.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

As far as I know it's a different injury Beefy. It was his groin the last time.
Apparently the "four weeks" that's been bandied about in the press is coming from Belgian coach Marc Wilmots.
Chris Bailey however has tweeted that this is all conjecture until the City medical team give their verdict.

BBC reporting thigh injury and state 'Kompany facing injury lay off'
They say that City are not stating how long he's expected to be out for.

Said it before, will say it again, we cannot be so reliant on a player so fragile.
Weve now had repeats calf strains, repeats toe injurys and repeats groin strains and thats ignoring the suspensions hes also clocked up.
Time to find another top class centre half as this has happened too often.

Sad but true. That's 2 groin injuries already this season. Vince is still our best defender by miles though and deserves to be given every chance before we even consider selling him. Surely he will stay even if he's not 1st choice as we are his club? That said who would we buy in January? Clubs wont let their best players go mid season

Well the clubs who find themselves out of Champions League by then could sell ... but those players will be cup tied I guess as far as CL goes ...
Why do we have 4 strikers when we can only play 2 (or should only play 1 at times, remember Bayern?) ... but we have how many defenders is it ... Komps is 1, Lescott is maybe half, so is Nasti ... and so on!
Cover here is our weakest link and it's showing ...

Fairly sure the OS (in the Citytoday video) said thigh but didn't give a timescale, so I'd go with that. Thigh strain I think should be quicker than groin? He will be gutted not to be playing for Belgium understandably, but from a selfish POV better he did when he did rather than it happening in their second game and missing more games for us?

Interesting article in Manchester Evening News about Vinnie. His tackle sucess rate is 50% compared to a team average of 75%. And has only made 6 tackles in total this season, according to opta data. 6 tackles is a pitiful amount, he should make more than that in 1 game.

"Maldini was primarily known for his positioning as a defender rather than his tackling. He made an average of one tackle every two games and positioned himself well so as to avoid making that tackle."
