Scouse Red A REAL Club In Trouble

Postby Vhero » Sun Dec 13, 2009 5:57 pm

Some people think we should be top 4 and not beating Bolton is the end of the world etc.. but look at the scouse red that's a team with trouble 1-0 up against Arsenal today and went and lost it 1-2 in the end. Their defence is worse than ours! Wouldn't wanna be a fan of scouse red right now. No money and falling apart.. Will Torres and Gerrard stay there if they come 10th this season?

Aside from Torres and Gerrard, I don't think any of their other players would get in our team.

Also, if you want to wind a scouser up, tell him (or her) that Given is a different class to Reina, they fucking hate it.

i'm loving every minute of it ,they are in real danger this year of not finishing in the top four with ourselves ,villa and spuds pushing them all the way ,carn't see rafa being there after the new year especially if they get dumped out of the fa cup might not even last that long ha ha

They're still only one place behind us (....somehow??!) so I'm not quite ready to get all smug yet.

If we can turn over the spurs this week, I shall feel a lot more confident in the fact that LFC are not really our main competition for 4th spot.

That'll probably be because we've only won one of our last 8 games mate... Not sure Spurs are playing well enough at the moment for us to beat them.

sad but true
Berbatov wins golden boot, spends following season on the bench while his team loses title on goal difference. Well played, Fergie.

The only bad thing is there still up our arses yet are in a "crisis" so what happens when they have a good spell :( but aslong as we have had our bad spell in the 7 draws and go on a winning streak then that game on 20-21st feb will be tasty.

The talk of crisis is really all relative isn't it? What I mean by that is that Liverpool is only in crisis in so far as they had any realistic chance of winning the league title this season. While Liverpool is losing to often to be comfortably in the top 4, they are also not drawing very often, so the amount of points they are leaking isn't as grave as it could be. I, for one, would not be shocked to see Liverpool alone in 4th place by mid-February if we, Spurs and Villa can't stop dropping points with needless draws.
As for the Champions League, Liverpool simply took Olympique Lyonnais and Fiorentina far too lightly and paid heavily for it.

Benitez will only be in serious trouble, given what they have to pay him to be rid of him, if Liverpool keep slipping in the league to the point where they would have a mountain to climb to reach City, Villa and Spurs in 4th. Smells awfully like the last days of Gerard Houllier to be fair. However, if they walk away with 4th place and the Europa League title, we will hear at least another year of 'Rafa the Saviour' parrotted to us by scousers and the media.

disagree, i think babel is one of the best players in the league and would free bellers up to come on as a striker were he's best which would also mean we wouldnt have to bring santa cruz on unless we had injuries which would make me very very happy because i think he is terrible

Did anyone watch Ian St John after the game. The bloke was almost crying in the studio over the Scouse..
Liverpool do have class, but not all over the pitch and they don't have a plan B like we have on the subs bench.I only see Villa and Spuds even challenging City for top 4..L/Pool are a dyeing squad ready to be quashed.

benitez doesn't seem toagree, considering the limited game time he gets. I sure don't agree either. Babel is very hit and miss. He does have the odd good game/does the odd good action, but he's just too inconsistent.

They are in trouble, but only if they fail to re-qualify for CL next time around.

And, if/when that happens, they will suffer badly because of the way the debt is (badly) structured around their club.

Their trouble was unpredictable; but the reality is that their defence has gone from practically the best in the country to 'worst than Birmingham' (that's a compliment to BCFC by the way).

As for 4th spot, my take is that LFC will be there or thereabouts all season, because they'll score for fun against the also-rans at Anfield. My hunch though is that either you or Villa will also feature in the race for 4th right up to the last game. Villa's defensive record is very good.

True but if they survive relegation they will be ok...The scouse have far more expectations on them than WHU.A big club like L/Pool out of the top 4 will hit them hard. The Hammers will be ok if they dont get the drop.

Write Liverpool off at your peril. No, they cannot win the prem but they aren't a member of the 'big four' for nothing. They are consistently better than a lot of teams and have been for years. Rafa doesn't become a shit manager overnight either, he has proved what he can do. They are having a bad time at the moment but are still within 4 points of 4th even though they have lost more games than Stoke now. Gerrard and Torres started for the first time together in 12 games so when they click again they will be a force to be reckoned with. We are hardly pulling up trees in the league with all our draws, Spurs & Villa are not convincing enough for me to think either of them will grab 4th as well.
That's what makes our form all the more fustrating. Just when Liverpool are having a dip in form we are not taking advantage and i fear we will regret these draws come the end of the season.

Very true mate. Liverpool will be there or there abouts for 4th. The season is a long one.

i dont get all this about crisis at anfield etc.....ok they are having a below average season but they are only just behind us , they have some superb players in there squad torres , gerrard , benayoun , reina , caragher i would even say babel and kuyt would get in most premier league teams.
so what happens ?
they have a shit season this season...the yanks HAVE to sell...some arabs come in and buy the club ...then they will buy who they want.
liverpool will always be there or there abouts.
they are far to big for shit to happen to them like leeds , sheff weds etc

We're a pretty good call to be relegated this season, to be honest and that fact goes hand in hand with the other, namely that we're in a financial nightmare of a position as a going concern.

However, the same is capable of being said of more than a couple of other teams, Hull and Pompey the obvious candidates. Its also true that there is very little quality in any of the bottom half teams this season. Stoke had a great start, but haven't won a match for ages. Wigan are an amazingly inconsistent outfit. Wolves may not survive injuries to their sqaud as the season progresses.

But, as suggested, LFC are different gravy; they risk the loss of a whole stream of income at a time when they are desperate for cash.

Seriously, could it be happening to a nicer club?
