I don't care once we're winning matches but I do think we have more of a chance of doing so with Ireland in the side.

Does anyone else think a lot of the goals we have conceded, especially of late, have a lot to do with luck rather than us being shit at the back? Both their goals today were mighty unusual, as was Chelsea's, as was the Liverpool equaliser... that's off the top of my head...


you make your own luck, and I think apart from the blatant cheating goals like the first one today, we should defend better as a unit and ensure they dont get any luck at all.

I do agree, but subscribe to the theory that if you dont let the opposition have chances, they wont score. The very fact that they get the chances is the issue - as they know if they take a pot shot or lump the ball into the box, they have always got a chance of nicking a goal. Surely the bad defending this year and last cannot be put down to luck - it is down to a poorly marshalled and drilled defence.

How many "unlucky" goals did we concede in Sven's season?
