Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

When the prices are not that much cheaper (e.g. last year) I like to buy from city vs. any other store; but just reading a post about the price of items in citys store, i had a look on ebay and found a guy who sells football shirts. I found this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MAN-CITY-3rd-FOOT ... 2304524ccdThey must be fake with the long delivery time and the fact that your looking at £20 for the ''limited edition'' shirt with a name and number on. I was just wondering if they were fake and what the quality is like, if anyone fancies taking a chance on them? I did email the guy.
Im after the black away shirt but considerding its 09/10 means it will be defunct in the summer, meaning a price of £40 is a bit of a rip off. Probably reduce them as soon as I get one!

Yeah I've bought 2 City ones (last year's red and black and the limited edition white one with the sky blue strip from a couple of years ago) and they're both spot on.
I've bought a number of other shirts as well and never had a problem. The dodgy ones are very easy to spot.

I've bought football shirts on eBay. If they're being sold as 'new' and the price is considerably less than the RRP then it's more than likely that it's a fake. The shirt I bought was woefully inferior to the genuine product.
BTW that seller is probably a drop-shipper.
Good luck.

Not a City one, but i got the WC 2006 Italy one and it's spot on. I was thinking about buying this season's City away one but I think I'll prefer buying from the online official shop. It's more pricey but at least the money goes directly to the club, considering that I live abroad I have not many other ways to contribute as I can't attend games at COMS, not more than once a year at least. I know the club doesn't need the money but I like to do it all the same.

Looking at the list of items that the guy has on sale- it's quite a wierd selection for fakes (West Ham?), although the pictures are definitely not taken by the seller, I'm guessing they come from some official catalogue.
Looking at the comments, there are only 2 mentioning the shirts being fake, and I was struck by this one:
Item was a fake, seller was uncontactable, overall a crook Buyer:

Not true, I contacted you and offered a full refund if you were not happy.
So I'd go for it.

Does it have the umbro badge on mate? I came across another seller on ebay selling kid robinho kits on the white shirt, but the umbro badge was missing on the sash (as it common with fakes).

I was in Hong Kong a few weeks ago, and was gratified to see knockoffs of City Tee-shirts prominently displayed in the night market---our international campaign must be working if they think we are worth ripping off!. Shit quality, and a XXXL size was about an English medium.
For me, buying directly from City is a way of showing support.

its perfect, ive got the home and third from the clubshop and theres no differnce, what you see in pic is what you get all the jerseys they sell are exact replicas, prob coming off same prod line as the real ones, just be careful with size the M is a tad smaller than the M they sell in the shop but still fine!!

I bought the limited edition white city shirt from 2 seasons ago from the bay, a very good fake, the only reason I could tell it was a fake was by putting it next to my sons shirt (bought from city store). Slight differences on the badge and labels but def a fake.
In fact ive just bought a fred perry polo shirt from ebay also a fake as I have two polo shirts from JD sports and the labels and buttons are different.
But I suppose you get what you pay for if you pay half RRP its going to be fake.

that website looks VERY GOOD reading the reviews. I might purchase one. Never had a players name on the back but might go for it this time. Tevez 32 with the badges on the away shirt is something like £23 with free delivery vs. £51 from the store!! £51 for a shirt thats gonna last 6 months! I just know theyl reduce them to half price as soon as I buy one.
U cant tell the quality of the ebay ones because they dont have the real pics. It seems theres very very good fakes ala that website vs. chinese ones without the proper badges. I'd worry about sizes though. The seller i linked too sells the limited white shirt (which that website doesnt) so i'd guess it would be a shit fake without the umbro badge. I did email him.
Re: other stuff, i use to buy loads of clothes of ebay and it'd be hit and miss, but usually I did OK. got a pair of fully tagged evisu jeans then they first came out for like £40 and a very nice ralph lauren polo for about £20

Medium is 38 inch isnt it? Fits good on me.
One season wonder im afraid. Its down as 09/10 which is a shame!! Especially with them still being £40. No doubt theyll sell them off after jan, but bloody £13 odd quid for name and number with badges is expensive. I might just get tevez on the back to piss the scum off. Bellamy is my fave player at the moment cos hes just lie I would be as a player. Hes not the star name though and may not me around much.

Initially, people assumed that it was a 1-season shirt. I've seen nothing official to back that up. I doubt it personally, as one of the posts regarding the launch (Kippax?) mentioned that only 40,000 of each design was made, which I consider now to have been untrue, or they started churning out a lot more.
I guess we'll be able to tell in Jan on the basis of whether they are reduced in price or not, and by how much.
