But please do explain how us finishing 15 points behind is 'chipping away at their empire' when at the time we were the current champions.

Even Howard Webb has defected the rag empire !

Every year I say their empire will crumble. It used to be because I'm a city fanatic.

Now it's because I'm a city fanatic and it's a real possibility.

Folk like me shouldn't be pointed out for saying it every year mate. If anything it should be commended and supported imo.

You should know by now that I agree with most of you regarding the media love in for the scum. It's just that when ever anyone puts a balanced opinion out there certain posters tend to rear up and shout them down. You are one of the main culprits but I think that's probably cos you spend so much time on here.

Its cool though, i've learned to put the tints on and get on with it.

Just for clarity sake that's not an insult mate.

I remember last season when I thought United were going to struggle. They'd lost to Everton and Norwich and struggled against most of the sides they came up against. I was almost certain that they'd get tonked by the bigger clubs and envisaged massacres along the way.

Liverpool were the first. They were all over them and United looked like rabbits in the headlights. Then, Shelvey is adjudged to be the aggressor in a 50/50 and gets sent off, but even with 10 men they looked the better side. One nil up before United equalised and then a, what I thought was fortuitous, penalty in the final stages to take all 3 points.

Then onto 2 consecutive games against Chelsea and Arsenal, 2 games that I'd though would stretch them to the limit. Tottenham had done them a couple of weeks ealier and Chelsea, once again, ran rings around them but just couldn't put the ball in the net. United went 2 up with the aide of an own goal but Chelsea stormed back and looked to be going onto win it until a crazy 5 minute window where Clattenburg couldn't wait to get the cards out and send 2 players off. United go on to win it.

Next, Arsenal. Won't go in to it but a very similar scenario to the above.

What I'm saying is that whatever they do or however they play, the luck of the Gods will be cast down onto them and they'll come up smelling of roses.

I'm off to get my meds now.

Beefy, the 'luck of the gods' has now retired and Moyes' rag outfit will not be afforded the indulgence by the refs that the piss-can's was.

I agree with what you're saying Beefy, but I also believe that it was all to do with bacon retiring on a high. I also think it was meant to happen the season before but we pissed on their fireworks. Look what happened to us away to Chelsea when it looked as if we were getting a bit too far ahead. I'm totally convinced that was what it was all about.

I agree in a way but there is still the realistic possibility that they'll still prop up the Rags if things aren't going to plan. Taggart will be wheeled out for the cameras, proclaiming that they aren't getting the rub of the green with decisions if they've lost a game. He'll still harrass the ref's and lino's and if that doesn't work he'll be on to his Rag sympathisers who are now at the top of all the main organisations that run the game; fuck, he's even got one in at the top of UEFA now, they'll definately be getting further in the CL this year.

I'm totally in agreement with the 'Taggart Farewell' statement mate and have mentioned it on a number of occasions. We were dragged back that season to the point where many of our top fella's had to bring their thoughts out in public. Some of the decisions were quite farcical with the likes of Derry getting sent off after Young dived outside the box. Fuck sake, they even gave them a penalty. And the Fulham game, the Cottagers down 1-0 and there's a clear penalty as Murphy is taken out from behind in the box yet the ref said it was a fair challenge. You really could not make that shit up and was the point where I completely lost it and kicked the shit out of my room.

We'll see though, if it's going to continue it won't take long before the obvious ones come out for all to see but never brought to light. Just like CamelGobs attack on puppy dog Torres last season or Evra's clear elbow in Micah's face the season before.

Well yet again United's backers at the PL have failed them badly.

Whilst City get 3 apparently presentable fixtures against Newcastle H, Cardiff A and Hull H, the evil ones have an away bananaskin to Swansea, a potential nightmare against the once-special one and a horrid looking away fixture at the Dippers. To add insult to their injury they are soon at the Etihad as well.

Taggart has gone, his influence has gone, the Evil Empire will fall. Tick tock.

What the hell are you talking about? Meeting two promoted teams that early is a fucking disaster. Promoted teams always, ALWAYS, overachieve early in the season. It's around october/november when reality sets in.

Yeah, like Swansea did when they came to our place in their first PL game.

Yeah, just like fuckijg Swansea at home.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Haha. I mean it's so bitter but also so right. If ever there was something positive with losing a game this has to be it.

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."
