Pellegrini anthem...

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Pellegrini anthem...

Postby steveo_88 » Thu Aug 22, 2013 7:49 pm

...anyone else in the South Stand on Monday hear the improvised chants for Pellegrini get the traditional boos when he didn't react (because he probably didn't hear his name)?

I know there are several players in need of songs but we could really do with one for the top dog, other than Pellegrinis Blue & White army!

Anyone got any good ideas, please post the track it's based on aswell?

The only chant I heard was 'There's only one Pellegrini' but I didn't hear any boos when he didn't respond. I can't believe anyone would boo our new manager just cos he didn't wave to the fans after they sang his name

Sarcastic boos as we got no response, read the top line again, you know the traditional reaction if the manager ignores your chants of course no one booed Pellegrini maliciously, why would they on a night like that?

Only one Pellegrini was one but we can surely do better than that for a permanent tune.

Always thought songs should be natural, someone or group sings it, people like it so they join in and before you know it, everyone is singing it.

All this bollocks on internet forums trying to form songs is probably the reason why there aren't any good ones anymore. Maybe I'm just getting old

Pelle still needs to earn a song. He's made a great start but lets not shoot our load too soon.

Yeah, but it's a crappy repetition of his name. I tried singing 'Vincent knows Everything!' but was met with quizzical looks. The timing was bad is all. When one guy asked I just replied 'Look at the size of his head'.

Think I'll try singing the manager's name to the theme tune of 'The Sweeney', see how that goes down. Winner.

If his nickname is the Count (who likes to count a la sesame street) maybe that's easier to use than pelligrini which is a multiple syllabic word.
The count and his boys, Will smash the rags and moyes etc sung to "we are family"
thers probably loads better than that suggestion it will come no doubt whatever we call him, someone gets the song on the terrace.

Pel-Ii-greeni...is our manager, is our manager.

Perhaps not.

Give us a 'P'...

Nah.

I still think the 'lets all do the conga' tune is the best idea so far.
