Didn't they have a £12m bid for Baines turned down? So even if they're resubmitting, that means they value Baines at £5.5m less than his buy out clause.

This^. Capitalise on existing ill feeling, and create some more of our own. Plus he's English. And possibly a better defender than Aleksander the Great.
