MARK HUGHES THREAD (all hughes opinions in here please)

There's been some decent discussion on what Hughes and the team have done on the pitch, but what about what has happened off it. I read that Hughes had given the players a rifting after the Hull game and then allowed them an open session against each other, allowing them to aire their views on each others play. I know this would usually happen naturally in many teams but ours is a brand new one and players would not necessarily believe they have the right.

This for me has played a part in our last couple of games, and brought the players closer and more understanding of each other as a team.

do you think Robbie and Carlos took their translators in with them?

I like the air your views thing, but it can only happen once every so often to continue its affect.

Of course they did, how the hell did they understand what was said! And, it's good that it's only happening now and then as I don't think it would've had the same effect after the Liverpool and Chelsea game; do you ;-)

any kind of bollocking must lose its effect if its translated. I will keep my fingers crossed that the boss has it right.

I was told that it didn't need translating, summat about tea-cups and boots around their heads! I personally think he should do it in a nice and respectful way that allows them all to earn their money and sleep at night, that way they are fresh for the next game. No need for undue stress in any job, no need for a challenge when you are expected to earn a crust ;-)

Very very valid point mate.

Also, Sven's first 14 games were what our whole season was built on. It was a steady decline after that.

I'm sure KK will have no problem posting the fugures again in Jan... they should make for an interesting read.

Terrible lineup today cost us Robinho coming on could have changed things but the Bellamy sending off effectively cut our head off today. Sylvinho.......We want Berti Back!!!!

Not about to change my mind after two games- one against a reserve team. Dont get me wrong I was delighted with yesterdays performance, but there is something wrong with a team that can only raise their game against the top sides, but cant beat Wigan, Birmingham, Burnley, Fulham etc. All the small teams usually raise their game against the "big four", appears to me that we still have that small team mentality. Until we start regularly beating the lower sides I will remain sceptical.

As I said above, simply not good enough. Another crap performance against a crap team.

Until the new team is gelling then I cannot start another hate campaign, it is just not fair, so I will wait until the end of January to give my true opinion...........

Your timing couldn't be worse mate, Tevez was exceptional against Liverpool and while I agree he hasn't got to where we know he can yet overall, he has scored 4 or five goals and has similar assists, so to tarnish him with the Lescott brush is a bit unfair IMO.

That said, I think Lescott could be settling...
