Yet more ongoing talks

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Yet more ongoing talks

Postby Evenmydoghatesunited » Sat Jul 27, 2013 12:09 pm

I've sent David Gill an offer of €37 (in various coinage I've amassed from trips across the channel) for the whole club - fixtures, fittings, players the lot. My intention is to turn the site into a waste disposal incinerator similar to that one right next to Stoke City and rehome the club closer to its fan base in Pyongyang.

It's early days and Gill hasn't responded to say whether the club is for sale yet - I guess as the Glazers are 5 hours behind they will not have received the details of my bid -but my PR agency has contacted the business press to let them know discussions are "ongoing".

Just a quick update.

The double Glazers via Gill have have replied to my earlier bid but have said that the swamp is not for sale. So I have upped the bid by adding in some not too badly soiled artistic magazines to my previous fair offer and now awaiting their reply. Talks are "ongoing".

Pointless thread ... now what would have been more useful is had you actually sent them that bid in writing and then leak the copy of that to all different papers ... have some of them bite and take the bait, then call into Sky and have them do a short interview as a filler in their news covering the story carried out by different papers ... and then you tell them, on camera, with a straight face that the talks are 'ongoing' ...

I will direct you to your dictionary oh alpha-numerical one and suggest you turn to the reference for hyperbole.

Is this thread supposed to be humorous and/or satirical, or are you trying to make a serious point?

Either way it's shit.

No, twitter thread serves a purpose to report twitter football rumours so that i don't have to touch twitter which i deplore!

Think of Gillie as our twitter ego, its filtering out the uber-shite we want to ignore and just giving us the slightly relevant stuff.

You could argue the same about the Daily Mail for example.

Perhaps one of the few good things about tw*tter is that it is written in SCALA

I agree with this. I'm a big fan of the Twitter thread even though I don't read it. It's generally managing to contain the rumours and shite on Twitter in one place, so we can read other threads without them being contaminated with 'according to Twitter' posts.
