as soon as he scores I think he will be off....still looks handy though! He had a ball through to him which was called offside i n the first half...but only he'd controlled it, dragged it back and lost his man. Nice skills.

Fernandinho I thought was excellent in what he could show on that surface. Really classy stuff but very incisive

Jesus...fuck me....he will terrify some defenders this season, fuck me he looks quick but also with a brain and some lovely technique.

It's very exciting to think we've not even seen Jovetic or Aguero on the pitch yet!

Oh and Btw I thought Silva was very good first half....great to see the little man shining again

Unfortunately it looks like I was right predicting someone would get injured. I hope Nasti's injury isnt too bad.

How did Negredo and Navas look?

Aaron Navas is rapid. I must say the two "shit Spaniards" look pretty awesome.

Haha.

I agree, they don't look bad at all. Not exactly Cavani level but not bad... ;D ;D

But being that both combined cost less than Cavani in transfer fee and wages, I think we're still ahead.

I was betting my house Edin would miss the pen, i still live in my house with no extra pulse.
Why the pen expert Negredo didn't take it to raise his confidence and secure 2-0 i will never know.

^^ Seriously. That's what I was thinking. Negredo shouldve taken it...it wouldve helped him settle a little bit.

I had the same feeling as everyone else when Dzeko missed that penalty. Like, what was that, wide and over the top of goal; someone else, like Negredo, should have taken it. But we all know that he's a confidence player. Not taking anything away from what Mancini achieved with the team, Pellegrini is the right manager to unleash the best in him. To be honest Mancini didn't see Dzeko as a bonafide striker, and his hours on the bench didn't exactly do much for his growth and probably was the catalyst in holding him back. We've already seen a positive change in Dzeko's confidence this pre-season. I believe he can improve on his first touch as well and two-fold on his general play, he just needs more game time, he looks hungry enough to want to please, and that's why I've always held him in high regard.

Its going to be interesting when Aguero gets involved again. Negredo, Dzeko, and Aguero will have to be rotating...any 2 of them could play together but at least one will be the odd man out. So I'd be curious to see what happens to Dzeko's new found "confidence" once he no longer starts every game in a row like he has during preseason.
