Here's a story to cheer us all up

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/10200933/Robin-van-Persies-pre-season-injury-niggle-is-down-to-dinosaur-coaching-methods-says-Dutch-fitness-expert.html

It's made me wonder whether, although I loathed the man with a fevered passion, the rags are going to start struggling to attract players to join Moyes' side as opposed to sir Danepak and his own brand of cheery jocko charisma. I do suspect that he had a way with some of the weaker willed types (and lets face it footballers aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer on the whole) that Moyes won't be able to offer. Rooney took one look at him and said I'm outta here after all.

Isn't this the same "expert" that came out saying Mancini's training methods were terrible and Mark Hughes's were super perfect?

Or something similar anyway. I seem to remember he was completely discredited on here at that time anyway.

(Assuming its actually the same guy, I haven't gone to any effort to check)

Gollum sued Shrek for libel so there was always going to be a collision - as for the report I don't care who said it or how discredited they were - mutterings of discontent in the camp & about training only come from City so this may be the start of that turning tide we're all hoping for

The same guy alright. What an utter clown. He has made the same accusations to numerous of clubs and managers.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Well in the time Gollum has been managing in the Premier league his teams have always struck me as being very fit has this guy thought that actually it's just the fact that RVP is a sick note and Bacon wrapped him in cotton wool to win the league back.

Can't be arsed reading the article, but if it's critical of the rags without this guy being made to sound like a loon, then there's a change afoot. Would an article like that have been published last season?

Despite Taggart attempting to play them as victims, they've always had an easy ride from the press - would Talkshite do the daily Arsenal about the rags? It'll be interesting to see how they cope without the press bigging them up all the time. It'll also be interesting to see if other teams pick up on it and stop rolling over for them.

Haven't Everton got one of the best Injury Records in the prem??

Surely if Gollum was that bad they would have been towards the arse end of the rankings?

My money is the on the fact that van Persie is prone to injury
"If we fire our manager after just one bad season - We'll become Chelsea"
"If we think we can fix the problem by buying expensive players - We'll become City"
"If we remember the good times to entertain us during the bad times - We'll become Liverpool"

So, keep calm and do it the United way

"We invest in young players, That is what we are good at — we’re not like other clubs who can spend fortunes on proven goods. We know that Manchester City are going to pay stupid money, pay silly salaries and all that. We can’t do anything about it. We concentrate on what we can do to try to bring players in for the right reasons. We invest in those who will be with the club for a long time, who will create the character of the club, who will create excitement for our fans. We are very proud of that and we are going to continue that way" - Alex Ferguson 14th May 2012

I'm hoping so. If Rooneys sods off and Van Pervie is out NFMU will need more than Wellcraps silky scoring skills to hold them together after the excellent season he's just had amassing a whole goal during the campaign

Watch the video's on City's website and you will see numerous of our own players making comments about Pellegrini's tough triple training sessions...

City are doing the same thing, you have to be as fit as possible going into the campaign to endure 9 months of games at the top level.

it's no biggie. People are so excited to stick a fork in "them."

They aren't even on the fire yet and people are checking to see if they're done ffs.

Their downfall, if ever it actually does occur, will take years. I hope it's super slow, and achingly painful...i can't see Moyes being allowed to actually fuck it up too much with Bacon still tending bar. He may lose the league but he won't be allowed to turn them into the laughing stock, Europa Cup wannabes, ensconced in their debt and unable to sign top players which we all daydream about from time to time.

on topic, this training/injury bollox is just that...nothing to see here.

cheers

They (Everton) constantly had one of the smallest squads in league and yet still managed to consistently grind results. He actually managed to turn around careers of many well known sicknotes like our very own Jolene.

Now I'm not saying Gollum is going to be a success, I fucking well hope he fails miserably, but I have a feeling overtraining isn't going to be one of the problems. And this Dutch bloke seems like a weirdo.

Er , i was being a little bit cheeky !

However, i really am interested in what could have happened.

I can't be arsed to go back , but i think you will find I , like others, Slim comes to mind , am pretty keen on seeing the correct usage of modal verbs and their abbreviations.

However, it pales into insignificance , when compared to the amount of utter garbage, foul language, sexual references and sexual innuendos that get posted which seems to float over from the good ol' US of A .Destined to be copied and sent back to the CIA for further anal ysis . Completely wasting bandwidth and time.
