Would Marc Vivien Foe be good enough now ?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Would Marc Vivien Foe be good enough now ?

Postby eastlands-lostboy » Mon Dec 07, 2009 8:12 pm

IMO he was an excellent player for City in his short time. We all know how much he was respected in his time but I am wondering how many out there think he could have got into the present team on a rgular basis ? He certainly was a class act but I would like to hear what others think ?

No.
"Like all bullies, they've just found out that there is a much bigger guy in town, someone who is richer and more powerful than their worst nightmare. And this smiling Arabic assassin is intent on stealing all the treasures they've nicked off everyone else, and pulverising them into commercial and footballing oblivion as he does so."

Jesus Edge you're really contributing to this thread aren't you?

I agree with the cunt though - Foe wouldn't have a hope in hell. IMO he was bought to hold the midfield and had a great run of form in an attacking sense. I don't think he would have replicated that form in another season with us then, never mind now... but I really enjoyed that season with him.

RIP

I doubt the 1st eleven.Maybe the bench and cup appearances..Top player in his short time with us..Paid my respects at the COMS memorial garden not long ago.
Sorry to go off topic but i watched the video of him a few weeks ago lieing on the pitch in his final moments.1st time iv ever cried over a player and hopefully the last.

Depends, if he was in the form from the first half of the 2002/03 season he wouldn't stand a chance but, if he was playing like he did from December 02' every week then I think he would be giving Nige some real competition. Attacking wise Foe was on another level to de Jong but in terms of defending the back line Nige edges it for me.

Very good question actully this, in the second half of that 02/03 season as I have said, Foe was brilliant, he must of earnt us about 6/7 points of his own back.

Nigel de Jong is fast developing into a huge part of the current squad however and I have no doubts that we would of lost on Saterday without Nige.

For the Prem? Most def. Just thinking back to his short time with us; he was a general of our midfield.

For you lot? Don't see why not, amongst the other options you have.

God rest him.
