brite blu sky wrote:What Ted has been reading is about right imo, City have been chasing Isco for a long time and he knows that. Not sure how long Real have declared interest, but it seems to me that it wasn't as long as City. The upshot is that Real knew it was a likely deal for him to go to City and have belatedly tried to play catch up as best they can.
I think it was a done deal with City as much as these things can be ages ago and Real have basically been insistent enough to get themselves at least a consideration by Isco. Have they done enough, I seriously doubt it - the reason is that if Isco knew Real were so keen on him ages ago he would have just come out and said he would go to them, again ages ago and City wouldn't even be in with a squeak.
That isn't the case and my take is that he won't trust Real whatever they are saying. Whereas with City he can trust the long term interest AND the word of the manager, his very own Pellegrini.

As Ted said Real look cheap in this one and City look class, calm and confident. If the lad has class he will follow his nose.

Or the various journo's in England and Spain have been creating a lot of this in their own minds to add spice to the whole thing?

These are the first few posts or news articles I have read today that are positive about the situation.

It has all been about how Madrid have beaten us to his signature and to be honest I began to believe it with the amount of trash being published.

I hope we do prove a point and sign the fellow.

Do you think Isco will be a success at Real?
Definitely. Isco will be a success wherever he goes. He's a great player. It might take him a little time to adapt, but he'll have his chances eventually and will make the most of them.

The words from monreal, doesn't actually say he's there and the fact of he will have to adapt? New country maybe?
Does anyone no when there's gonna be an official announcement?

On the specific point about playing time Isco must know that no Club can give him an absolute guarantee of a regular starting place. Still who would you believe a Manager who you've played for and trusted for years and who has shown his faith in you time and again or some aging superstar trying to persuade you that an unknown manager will play you? I think the problem has been the fee for Malaga not the player. Other things being equal he's better off in Manchester on the criterion he himself has always insisted on.

El Mundo Deportivo and Marca says that Real Madrid made arrangements with the transfer of Isco so would Spaniard Young expected to sign with Madrid club five year contract in a transfer worth around 30 million euros. however, the Spanish web portal Deporte says that Isco does not support Real. Isco in an interview with the portal he did not know where he will continue his career, but he antimadridista. "Real is not a small club, but I've never liked. Somehow I get the impression that the club arrogant, not too humble team. I do not know yet where I will continue my career, "said Isco.

Wtf are you on about ?

Any scratching, biting or lying.

They are just negotiating like us and the papers are making up the rest.

I doubt Isco is doing any of that. He's enjoying his holiday. It's the Spanish press spurring all this crap.

Sounds like Hazard situation all over again. It's all welland good trying to get smart deal done but at some stage you need to close. Worse still, we will probably end up panicking again and spend tons of money on attacking midfielder equivalent of Javi Garcia.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Hey, you're back. Nice. You gonna make another summer transfer thread?

Also, saw something on twitter (I know I know) saying we matched RM's price and added 6m in add ons. Who knows. I hope this is sorted soon.

Well here's one thought, City tend to keep negotiations quiet, we hardly hear from players or agents of the players that we're making offers on. The likes of Cavani broke what ever agreements rules we set in place when negotiating so we pulled out of the race.

As far as i know we've heard very little or next to nothing from Isco and also only snippets of info from Malaga - anything from those camps has been confirming what is already common knowledge or stating the obvious.

This leads me to believe we're still in there, that Isco and Malaga are still working with us otherwise we'd have surely started to hear more quotes similar to the stupid quotes from the Napoli owner.

Its just a thought mind you, the like of PBT etc only know what they've been told from the RM side - Isco & Malaga wouldn't put anything out there that could break any kind of negotiation rule or NDR we might work with.

Yey! Official transfer thread with club badges and everything coming up?
