i laughed out loud when they announced it, there were empty seats all over the ground, big gaps in the away end, hospitality and plenty of 2's and 3's all over the show. total and utter bollocks imo

They work out the attendance off people signing in, not off seats soldso I can't see where they are going wrong. And to be homest, the amount of people stuck on the concourse near me was unbelievable, I couldn't even get my pint ot hte front!

I have queried the attendance a number of times this season, it has to be on tickets sold - there were empty seats all over the show

There were at least a couple of hundred empty in the away end and a good hundred in the corporates in the colin bell. Half the boxes were empty too, which I was extremely surprised about with the fixture

I had 3 empty seats to the side of me and two in front, looking beyond that, there were 2s 3s and 4s empty all over in sight of where I was.

Mate, our maximum seating capacity is 47,720 (approx from last I knew) and if you factor in your equations, it's about right. Fantastic support, and I didn't hear a cockney twat antwhere near me

One behind me, although he was a city cockerney twaaaaat.

What I am saying is that there have been games where there hasnt been an empty seat in sight, yet they were littered all over the show today so it surely has to be on tickets sold, not bodies through the turnstiles

Having said that, even with the empty seats, the atmosphere today was (derby aside) the best I have seen for a league game. So much so that I had a pint instead of a Bovril to warm me up - possibly the reason for the difficulty getting a pint.

If you're in 110 bottom tier, one might have been mine cos my f***ing car broke down.
Bloody knew then we would win as evidenced by my post in the prediction thread.

Hope the car's better soon, you must have been gutted. Just clocked your location, was up that way last week for an early Christmas lunch with some old school friends (we've all settled around the SE/SW and Newbury was about in the middle) - went to the Swan Inn in Newtown, excellent place and a great meal.

For me, it was even better than our latest Derby, absolutely awesome. As for the attendance, don't worry, you are now assigned to the history books. Biggest crowd, beat the league champions after going behind ;-)

Cheers mate, quite right I'm a little pissed seeing it's the first one I've missed this year. Quite like The Swan myself, just down the road from me.

A big sorry from me mate, I know what it's like to miss a big game, especially when we win. Hope the car's alright soon because you know you're going to need it, but not quite for the swamp. How close are you ;-)

One of the best atmospheres at Eastlands in recent memory- up there with Hamburg and the derby wins. Even the grumpy old twats in the Colin Bell had their singing voices tuned up tonight, brilliant stuff. Let's make that kind of noise every week and make our ground a fortress. Rise to all occasions, not just the big ones!

Cheers mate, I'm in Newbury, so it's a bit of a neccessity. Quite often get the train, but it's a bastard getting back from late matches.

I have to agree that Coms was rocking yesterday and even in the lower North where I sit it was bouncing. I missed the lights thing on wed as I got stuck in traffic but I thought it really added to the atmosphere.

By the way did anyone see that little mascot before the game who started walking on his hands instead of hitting balls at Shay...was piss funny and I'm sure Shay was pissing his sides.
