He's good, he might be really good and might eventually end up being very very good.

He seems to get better each match at the moment - same for Micah (hope him and Bridge arent too badly hurt)

Hes bedding in nicely now..Got an understanding with the players around him..I was impressed against Arse but today he was world class and made a very good Chelsea attack look average.

If he keeps playing like that he will dislodge Ferdinand by the time the world cup happens next year.... His positioning is excellent, he is reading the game, and has the knack of being in the right place at the right time, lots of covering tackles as well.

To be honest, Toure is beginning to worry me more. Sometimes I feel Toure is an accident waiting to happen. Today he was out of position a few times, and even let an aerial ball bounce in the box, that they nearly scored from.
I must remember to get a new signature.....

If thats the same chance that I'm thinking of then it was Onuoha who let it bounce and not Kolo........ thought richards was immense today as was Nige and Barry and Lescott!!!!!

I was thinking we may have moved him to left back when Bridge went off, but that may have destroyed his confidence as a centre back (?)...overall I thought we defended excellantly as a team, with even Robby tracking back. That is something which hasn't happened consistently enough, but will hopefully from today.

The only thing missing now are his goals from set pieces, but defensively he's been great both against Arsenal and tonight, hopefully he will keep it up.

He's got two goals hasn't he? Not bad for a center back at this stage

Some of you out there think I'm a licker, but I thought Hughes made a howler by not putting Lescott at left back, but I think he got it spot on! The best JL game so far!!!

PS. Thought Micah was HUGE.......pass the humble pie

I thought this upward trend started with his England performance against Brazil and he's starting to look even better now than he did for Everton which is impressive. He's getting better and better.

I was really confused by the lescott/barry saga when Kompany came on. I would have put my mortgage on Lescott playing LB and Komps going CB. However, Lescott and Toure were playing well and it made sense. I also applauded the Ned at RB sub as well as Cole would have murdered Zabaleta, however, ned went and fucked up big style ;-( lucky we have the best keeper in the WORLD!

I WENT BALLISTIC ON THAT AS WELL....................HATS OFF TO HUGHES TODAY, WE DID EVERYTHING RIGHT.

IM NOT IMPRESSED WITH NED THOUGH....I LOST MY VOICE BECAUSE OF THAT FUCK UP AT THE BACK...THATS 2 FUCK UPS IN 2 GAMES BY HIM..LAST WEEK HE GAVE THE BALL AWAY AND THEY SCORED AND THIS WEEK A PENALTY.
AS NED SAID HIMSELF..HE,S GONE BACKWARDS....SHAME REALLY.

WONDER WHAT THE INJURY STATUS IS?
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

Haha, yeah, I guess it isn't bad, I just got a silly hope when we got him that he would be scoring almost week in week out from corners and other set pieces, so maybe it's just me who expected more goals from him.

Lescott is getting better by each match. The defence was always going to be the area that took more time to gel - they have to be a unit.

Good in the air, comfortable on the ball and seems to be able to make quick decisions though not panic. Quality.

I like that he is left sided and is a threat at attacking corners too. Well done Hughes for buying and persisting with Lescott when there was pressure to change the team.

If he carries on like he is at present then I can see him getting on the plane to South Africa with England.
