Winner Group C with Runner-up Group D and vice versa. A&B etc.

if we come top in the group, we play ghana or germany, win that we are most likely to play france, then most likely to play brazil in semis!

We really couldn't have asked for a better draw.

I'm considering having a fortnight off for it. Can't wait.

I'm still a bit raw from being cheated out of the world cup but I'm sure I'll be fine when it rolls around...

England got the easiest group IMO, but how in god's Holy name are England joint second favourites to WIN it with Brazil???
I mean Brazil are a shit hot team who perform to the highest standard of football there is is 99% of competitions.

I just don't get it.

Saying that, if France get through to the next stage I hope you meet them and fucking destroy them.

Just with British bookies mate. Prices in each country reflect punter loyalty and the expected 'sentiment money' which will be placed on the home nation.

If England come top, it could honestly be any of those four as runners-up (although I think it will be Serbia in all honesty). Any of them could prove a potential banana-skin.

USA-ENGLAND

that should be entertaining...starting with a loss would surely be out of the question for England, right? Seems like the best draw possible. How does this sound tho:

a loss to the US, an ugly draw with Algeria...needing a win in the 3rd match...just sqeaking through to play Germany winners of Group D and getting knocked out. Sorted.

Does all that math make sense or am i calculating that scenario incorrectly?

cheers

Naaaaaah. Weiss for sure. You know he is the manager's son and he started all games for slovakia?

Yeha but I heard that even if he's father is the manager, that's not going to be enough for him to go to SA without some pitch time at City.

Group D is even worse imo, all 4 teams have a chance to qualify (if the Serbs don't leave their intellect at home, something they've done plenty of times in the past) whether I don't see any way for N.K. to pose a significant threat (just like they did in '66 to my own country...ops!)

Mate, he never had time at city and still started all their qualifying games.
Fans wont be happy if he was dropped anyway.

Very happy with our group. It's going to be tough as hell to progress but it could have been worse.

England. What a piss easy group.

Hopefully I'll be out of the country during the WC. I hate all the frenetic optimism that comes with England's participation.

Everyone here is really bent up about the group. I don't get the love affair with Ghana though; they have some decent players (Appiah, Gyan, Ayew) as well as Muntari and Essien but they aren't that good a side. Pride before the fall and all that but I'm more worried about Germany and Serbia.

Not thrilled with the draw - we got the second hardest group after the Brazil/Korea one.

I agree with you to be honest but I have to say that the "African View" of the heirachy in this continent is very much that currently that Ivory Coast are the best side, followed by Ghana, Nigeria and then probably Cameroon/Egypt behind them
