First of all, for whatever reason, this the percentage on this board in relation to support for Hughes has always differed greatly with larger polls or indeed general concensus at the games.... so I'd say you're off when you say that HALF of City supporters don't support the manager.
Also, you then mention that "what we've learned during hughes tenure" is that football fans are fickle??! It didn't take Hughes to tell any fan that. Win and we're happy, lose and we're pissed off. That is the way of the football fan.
Just because you say to yourself and the rest of us that you have "now lost patience and want him gone" doesn't mean a lot at all really because people who state the likes of that may spout all over the board, but at the end of the day, he'll be here until the owner decides and when we win you'll still be happy and when we lose you'll repeat that you want him gone.
If being happy when we win and being unhappy when we lose is fickle then all of us are in the same boat... polls like this will change of course, because (hypothetically) to say "I don't want him here just because we've won all these games in a row" is worse than fickle IMO.
I have a friend that has a lot of experience in conducting opinion polls - I discussed this with him a while ago and her 'considered' opinion would indicate that the evidence here is a majority support for Hughes.
Reasons for this is that people are indeed fickle - but it would work the other way around to how has been indicated. - i.e. a poll conducted at this time after a bad run etc - should indeed show a big vote for out )if that is indeed the trend) - but if there is a quite even spilt then the underlying trend is indeed favourable when adjusted for 'bias'
It follows that such a poll should also be adjusted for 'optimism bias' if it was conducted after 7 straight wins
