Do you think the public kick up the backside from Mancini has done the trick?

From what I saw yesterday, albeit against inferior opposition, his work-rate and team ethic have improved and he seems to be enjoying his game more.

Will this continue?

Its difficult to know but he seemed more interested yesterday.Maybe the public dressing down is the kick up the ass he needed.He has 10 games to start showing his value to the team as I doubt a continued lack of effort will be entertained for much longer.

he shouldnt have needed a kick up the ass as he gets paid a fortune to play with the champions and some of the best players in the world,if he cant get motivated for that he has to go.this was all about him sulking he was blammed for derby loss,he was a coward so he should have accepted he was going to get stick and get on with it.

I don't think that effort is usually his problem tbf. Some people jump on that & we have seen a bit of it on occasion but I recon he usually does more tracking back than most creative players. It's the 'creative' bit which is often missing imo.

He did put a cross on Dzeko's head yesterday, which he was doing when he first signed, & also made a couple of good assists but a typical Nasri moment was when we had a breakaway situation & he had 40 yards to run into, he ran 15 then played a shit pass out wide.

I was talking to a mate about him after the game & (for the older types amongst us) was discussing Dennis Tueart & Peter Barnes in the same situation; full tilt, right at the heart of the defence only passing if there was no finish on, drawing the whole defence toward them, leaving others open for said pass .

In recent times although not in their class; Craig Bellamy.

Nasri could do that kind of stuff, he is pretty quick, but we never see it. If we'd had someone who does do it, we would be a lot closer to the rags.

Doesn't he have the confidence to take on a player? Is he under instructions not to lose the ball & therefore goes for the easy option? What the hell is it. He COULD take on players, I've seen it but it's just not happening here. shame as this makes it so much easier for our opponents to deal with

He played on the left for the most part, drifting in centrally as and when required. He always looks better out there than doing the same thing out on the right, which is where he usually plays.

Also, to me, it seems as if he often hasn't thought about why he's taking on a player, so when he does do it, it's usually meaningless as he doesn't shoot or cross, just turns back on himself & passes it to the fullback etc.

Yesterday when he beat a man, he did seem to have an idea what his plan was afterwards & we got goals from it.

its called the headless chicken routine. he stops with the ball when he sees an opposition player, then runs around in a circle with it because he can't beat the player.

Nasri is so unbelievably frustrating. I've rarely seen a player with so much natural talent that doesn't know how to use it.

His work rate was fine, and in general it tends to be okay. He just seems to lack that incisiveness. If you look back at his best performances for Arsenal they were all typified by his pretty damn explosive forward play. He's very, very capable of beating players and running a defences. He's great at that. He should do it more. Look at Suarez over at Liverpool. Yeah, he loses the ball a few times, but he's so bloody single minded that he just keeps on running at people - he's no quicker than Nasri. There's very little in them in pace. He just wants to beat people and keeps trying. If Nasri had even a little bit of his attitude he'd be some player. He should be starting on the left, where he looks pretty effective when he gets it right, and he should be cutting in, creating the overlap, and running at defenders with the option to either shoot or beat his man for a cross.

If he played like he did yesterday and took that mentality and exaggerated it even more we'd find that he'd end up with 10/15 assists a year and a similar amount of goals. He's a different type of player to Silva and he should realise that. He should let Silva be the one floating around playing the simple little playmaker passes.

He's got a lot of talent but is wasting it.

Yesterday he did ok, but didn't really become too involved in the game although he did setup Tevez 3rd goal and our 4th.

Would sell him for £15m plus at the end of the season as he will have had 2 seasons and so far has played about 3 really good games for us - one of them being his debut at Spurs last season.
