It sounds to me like they are going to put up prices in the areas which will be more sellable, like the side blocks. 'Encourage' some of us to fuck off upstairs & they fill our seats with people who can pay more. Possibly there wasn't enough interest in corporates sitting in the new top tiers in their last survey, so they're looking to re house some of us up there instead. A firm can buy centre block tickets, (& all those in the block if enough people will move or are priced out) & put their guests in the prime area rather than up in the gods behind the goal, they can sell the seats for top whack.

I predicted that would happen in the lower side areas some years back & this looks to me like they may be testing the water for an attempt at starting down that road. It's not getting much approval though from what I hear.

Didn't they mention a couple of years ago about moving out of Colin Bell Level 2 before they pushed the price up? Think the intention was to make it more corporate and upgrade food etc on that level. Maybe this survey is an extension of that.

However, I've told them they can stick their shop voucher, I do to want to move and hopefully most will do the same.

They mentioned it and took action on it though didnt they, installing comfy seats, enhancing the family stand etc.

The sheer size of the family stand now, and strict criteria for sitting there means there will be a logistical nightmare in years to come when the kids reach 18 and have to move, which for me means that there is a certainty the capacity will rise in the next few years.

But i'm fucked if I understand the point of this forever blue malarkey - although as i wont be in england for a few years, if I could buy the seat at a nominal price but choose not to take it up for a few years, i'd probably be interested instead of keep renewing my season ticket and giving it away for free as my mates are all tight cunts

I completed the survey and quickly came to the conclusion that it's not for me. I don't really see the need nor the point of it.

This sounds similar to personal seat licenses (PSL) over here. Except if you don't renew your season ticket the PSL goes back to the team and they can resell it. Which has been going on since the 80's but has really picked up in the last decade.

This is what rags' season ticket holders have been doing for decades. Loads of these fuckers with 'Manchester postcodes' died 30 years ago & their famies keep renewing the tickets every year & sell them to travel companies.

I know a Norwegian geezer ( City fan ) who was stood with me on one occasion at a City training session back in the dark days, with a holdall next to him, full to the top with rag season tickets.

When the demand becomes high enough, this is basically sanctioning the same thing at our place. People will buy them on behalf of travel companies & kick out regulars to be replaced by tourists.

Looks like the medium term future for the likes of me will probably be level 3 behind the goal.

However, it would work perfectly for somebody like me. Working away for long periods sometimes prohibits you from making the games, for entire seasons sometimes, and this would allow me to not purchase for the season but retain my seat (at present my ticket goes to family and friends).

The scheme is quite simple. You can request a move of your seat as time goes by as long as the present incumbent of the seat you want to move to also agrees a move. The downside is that it will inevitably come at a cost although they are implementing a scheme to spread that cost over the full year, not just one lump sum.

Pro's and Con's, and all that.

You have to ask yourself; why ? What do they get out of it ? It's not just oing to be for a few extra subscriptions; there will be a master plan.

There are lots of initiatives being explored mate and they are all about increasing revenue. Even if they can get a pound a ticket it all looks good on the books. Us, as fans, will always be reluctant to change and we will always be mindful of somebosy trying to change us, or trying to charge us more but these initiatives are alongside others. We all know there are expansion plans and that they are looking to extend the 2 ends and fully utilise the East and CB stands for maximum revenue. Maybe that is the plan, amongst others.

Like I say though, to be self-sufficient we need to maximise revenue and the slightest increase is a major bonus for the club. Maybe the day will come when even more people are priced out and the influx of glory hunters take over the stadium but I have no doubt that the owners have done their demographics and undertsand their main target audience is made up of everyday Joe's like me and thee. To become an Arsenal or United will take many years of sustained success, and somehow, it's got to be paid for. It doesn't grow on trees you know.

You have to remember that the owner's initial policy was to keep prices low, attempts to raise revenue now are to help meet FFP not to benefit the owner. Blame Platini and the G14 clubs, not the club or the management or the owner.

if the club could replace every fan in the stadium, with someone (tourist/glory hunter/who cares) who'll spend 5 times more on a ticket, they would. they'd show no loyalty whatsoever, i agree.

a cynic might say that prices were kept low whilst there were empty seats, and now they're not, there's been a huge hike, and the introduction of a far-from-transparent pricing system.

You'd have to be a pretty big cynic, considering there's bugger all chance of them making money on us and they voted against and easy cop out way to do it just recently.

What a myopic view that is! Why did ADUG buy City? To enhance the "fan experience"??? Please...

We're talking serious global businessmen here, not altruistic philanthropists... I know that the argument will be that "it's the inevitable way football has gone", but two things really bug me about that. The fact that people have been so readily accepting (and in some cases openly embracing) of this apparently incontrovertible fact.

And that it simply isn't true, and doesn't have to be this way.

How much are tickets for the last home game of the season? Anyone know?

This club is moving forwards and we all have to accept that it will involve changes which may not please everybody.

At least the club are asking us , if they were that ruthless as some people seem to think, then they would just plough on without engagement.

Our owners have a plan and this is not just short-term in reaction to the meddling efforts of UEFA and other interested parties.

Expansion is needed and we need to embrace this , we are going to be a world power in domestic football.

Enjoy!

Can I ask where you sit mate as my SC has hardly budged since the takeover. Are you in the 2nd tier by any chance?

No mate, i gave up my ST years ago as I never know until the last minute whether I can go or not due to work. I'm fortunate enough that I could afford the prices at the moment, I'm talking about the principles involved.

No they bought us to raise their profile back home and I'm sure in part for the sheik to own a football club.

Neither of those require robbing us blind.

FFP might tho.
