Carling Cup Part 1

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Carling Cup Part 1

Postby Blueboylewis » Tue Dec 01, 2009 3:17 pm

So quarter final week has arrived and this is probebly our best chance yet to progress into the semis. Lets not make a mess of it City.

The quarter final matches are as follows-

Man Utd v Tottenham
Portsmouth v Aston Villa
Blackburn vs Chelsea
Manchester City vs Arsenal

But tonights two quarter final matches are-

Man Utd v Tottenham 20:00
Portsmouth v Aston Villa 19:45

I would love Tottenham to beat United. but i want revenge on United at the same time!! And i would like to see Pompey beat Villa as i would rather play Pompey than villa obviously.

What match are all you watching and who do you want to play in the semis? (If we get through)

Portsmouth FC vs. Aston Villa

"An exclamation mark or exclamation point (!) is a punctuation mark usually used after an interjection or exclamation to indicate strong feelings or high volume, and often marks the end of a sentence."

Definitely the most overused of the punctuation marks. I very rarely see it used to good effect.

Ha ha PMSL OWNED for fun Crossie!

I'll be hoping united beat spurs cos i want them if we go through (plus spurs always capitulate under them anyhow). i can only see one winner in the other game, and thats villa. think they'll run out comfortably, can't see avram grant adding a cup run to his worries, appease the fans as it may. villa on the other hand have like us been way too long without a trophy so i expect o neill to put out a decent side.

Just to ensure that we don't get through tomorrow I shall get ahead of myself and ask....

Is it a draw from the hat for the semis or is it set who will face who?

Here's what I'm hoping to be the semi-finalists:
Pompey just so that there's a bit easier opponent there.
Blackburn - not gonna happen though.
Rags or Spurs is a difficult one. I don't want to see rags again in semis. But then again if we face Spuds later I'm certain we will lose to them. Still, has to be spurs.
And of course the mighty blues! CTID

Probably a fixed draw from a bent hat.

Tottenham are very unlucky to be 1 goal behind. They have had plenty of posession, But they just need that final ball. Although they could have already scored through Defoe. It was a great chance and he should have scored.
