City's hardest player

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

City's hardest player

Postby MARKMAKAVELI » Tue Dec 01, 2009 1:54 pm

Who is your vote for? Probably best having 2 catagories: 1 for the older era such as Franny Lee etc and 1 for the new breed.

Found this amusing line on google - "He was so hard that he even tried to run off a broken leg".

Also for a laugh, post a funny pic of them.

Current....Nigel....no shadow of a doubt for me, I wouldn't mess

Past...maybe not actually the hardest but for the Sexy Beast-esque combination of hard, violently unstable and mad it has to be this man

Andy Morrison and Tiatto are both good shouts. Horlock rarely pulled out of tackle but otherwise was a gentleman.

Out of current crop, well they are all soft as fook but I would have to go with Mad Zabba. People hate his reckless challenges but I have to admit that I often enjoy the way he never pulls out of tasty challenge. I also love the fact that he is no ranter or raver. Pretty much the same as Pearce in his prime (please don't post that pic where he is yelling as that's really not the way he was on the pitch usually), putting in hard challenges and always comes up first looking like nothing special happened. Then looking genuinely shocked when he gets yellow card for his troubles.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Now: technically Stephen Ireland because he does MMA. Rough as fuck/fuck you up/brute I'd go for Tevez. When players square up to him he usual gives them the "If I could be arsed I'd twat the shit out of you, but as for now I've been running at 100mph for the past 90 minutes so I'll let you off!" look.

Past: People have mentioned Tiatto who I would have gone for. Van Buyten always looked as if he didn't take any shit. This little man as well:

Tiatto was just a shit player nothing hard about being 10 secs late with a tackle week in week out maybe tells you something about our fans, daft cunt dives in clatters a player gets sent of to a standing ovation, Thatcher was a twat, a very good left sided player who lacked self control, sad as he was decent when younger. Steve McMahon, Peter Reid, was tasty, Andy Morrison, Gerry Gow, Mike Doyle, recent times, Stuart Pearce hard and a player. One of the bravest and hardest is SWP, takes after Ian Wright not shy about a 50/50. Always gets up and never hides.

our Franny had a temper on him (here demonstrated whilst at Derby)

Bert made light of his neck being broken:

and it looks like Don Revie invented the flicked back heel pass!

Gerry Gow's a good call and big Dave was assertive enough

Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.
