Personally I understand more why Miami is being held back than why we are not getting Johnno on for the last 15-20 minutes for Nigel De Jong. Nigel has been excellent this season but if we are coming under pressure then, for me, MJ offers the ability to break up play (as WD does) but also has immensely more ability on the ball and with the ball. His superior use of the ball would relieve pressure on us miles more than Nigel putting in last ditch tackle after last ditch tackle

this season so obviuosly MH thinks he's ready. He just doesn't have th balls to play him !
Does anyone really think that it wud have been a big risk to play him against the likes of Burnley and Hull at home
or Birmingham away ??
I'm not saying he shud start ahead of SWP (not yet anyway) but he shud at least get some playing time.

If these two were in form I would agree with that....but both of them have been horrible at giving away possession over the last draw bore run of matches. So I am not currently sold on the idea of Nigel winning the ball and giving it short to one of them to immediately turn possession over...In fact that was kinda my whole point

That's a bit of a strange quote really. Just a pure anti-Hughes line (and I'm still on that fence!). Surely any manager would play him if he thought we were more likely to win, and therefore benefit said manager?
Nothing to do with balls at all.
The people at the club know far more about Weiss than we experts do so lets wait and see with this guy eh?

I mentioned the Burnley and Birmingham matches specifically as this was the period in which SWP was badly out of form
(he's been much better in the last 2 matches). Would it have been a big gamble to give Vlad a run in these 2 games ?
I never said that he shud start ahead of SWP but can replace him at times when he needs a fully deserved rest.
In fact I even think they can both be on the field at the same time with Sweep tucking in or playing on the left (as he does for England sometimes). This could have been tried against Hull instead of bringing on Bellers who's been annynomous lately.
The sign of a good manager is to be a bit adventorous sometimes. MH is not and doesn't know how to change the game.
Is that anti Hughes. You work it out.

Yes, he is talented but would you risk him against the likes of Chelsea. Arsenal 'Coming of Age' maybe, but even then I would prefer the old and bold until the game is won.
He's 20 years old today. Absolutely criminal that we aint given this lad a chance yet. Shrek, Tranaldo, Owen, Shearer etc had all played over a 100 first team games at his age for fucles sake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
