However, when I was leaving, there was a cavalcade of about 8 Mercs being escorted by police bikes away from the ground. I know Khaldoon was there but I wouldn't have thought he'd have left so soon after the final whistle, I thought he usually stayed behind in Garry Cooks Exec lounge. Maybe he was as disgusted at the result as me and didn't want to be hanging around, unless it was someone else of high importance, I don't know.

Could be mate, they did get some divine intervention (from the ref) afterall ;-)

hughes needs to bow his head in shame tactically naive and RSC before bellers what a slap in the face. Phil Brown passion on display hughes couldnt give a rats arse

I wil not be calling for his head though-if mansoor has spent the cash and wants hughes in im not going to argue were in a far better state

if he did see sense id be calling for jose or hidink

As it stands we are still top 6 which means that everybody else is making mistakes too. I'll reserve judgement til I see what we do after these run of draws. If we turn these into wins, we continue our quest for top 6 or 4, if we start losin then we go into mid table mediocrity.

Being in Oz i haven't been able to see everything City related like I would back home, so I can't comment on tactics etc, but from outside looking in, the key is what happens when this run of draws stops.

Micah is still nowhere near his former self, especially going forward and seems to not be paying attention at teams. Bellamy has been anonymous for over a month now and todays cameo was no different.

On the plus side, Lescott's best game for us, Bridge great again, SWP's best game in weeks, Nige was quality and Stevie looked happier with Robbie in the team. As for Robbie himself, thank god he's back and lets hope that Tevez follows his example on the ball, yes he sometimes takes three players on but he just as often plays it first time or rolls a simple ball to a teammate, total class and when he went off we lost any sense of danger going forward.

Unfortunately tactically we were woeful in the second half, can Hughes only make like for like substitutions? Does any know if he has any history of changing things round tactically in games with Blackburn or Wales? Why bring on an out of sorts Bellamy when Johnson and Kompany are sat on the bench and we obviously need to tighten things up?

Agree with most of what you say. What I was expecting and seeing that we could not get the vital 2nd goal, MH wud have at least been looking to defend the lead. So the obvious substitution here with 15-20 mins left, was to bring on Vince for Ireland or Tevez to close the midfield and give Nige and the defence a hand. But alas once again MH failed to see the obvious.

I wouldnt class that as a mistake - the best way to defend a one goal lead is to score a second goal and I believe that was MH's thinking.

Well you're stating the obvious here aren't you and I agree but it does not harm to shore up yr defence while you're seeking that 2nd goal. And I did say this shud have taken place in the last 15-20 minutes which many smart managers wud find very reasonable.

Whether it was a penalty or not, or whether they score it is pretty irrelevant. The defending on the whole was pretty good, with the exception of lost Micah again I'm afraid. Lescott better and better.

On a day when the SCUM knock in 4 by taking their chances, once again we lose because of our decision-making and finishing in the final third.

SWP, Tevez, Ireland, Robinho were all bad at this. We get in the right positions, positions where you just know that Scum or Chelski will score, and then we fuck it up, time after time, match after match against lesser opposition.

Is this down to the training or the players? I bet they knock them in during training, so why constantly cock it up on matchday?

It's not as if we're actually PLAYING badly (like many years previously) and I bet we can live with the best next Saturday.

But we need to learn to beat these teams that are expected to lose to us.
