Postby BlueMoonAwoken » Sat Nov 28, 2009 5:04 pm

Ive been defending Mark hughes from day one , ive said give the man time and even now he still deserves " time " But i cant keep my mouth shut about a couple of your signings.

Adebayor

Now i beleive the guy believes his own hype and thinks he is world class or will be world class. BULLSHIT!
Look at rooney for example when he is running at defenders , defenders are shitting there load thinking fuck what do i do?????

Adebayor for me yeah he holds up the ball but he does fuck all else ? You want goals ? BUY PLAYERS THAT ATTACK!

want to finish games off ? BUY PLAYERS THAT ATTACK!

Lesscott

For me i will never know why you paid so much for him , he is not world class , he aint even top class he is a decent premier league defender. You have 24 million to spend and cant find a TOP CLASS CENTER HALF!!!!!!!!

Barry

he didnt play today but i still think the guy is shite , just like adebayor OVERHYPED!

No wonder Tevez is considering retiring !

So mark hughes if you last till after january BUY SOME FUCKIN TOP CLASS PLAYERS !!!!

If you cant tell what is TOP CLASS rather than media OVERHYPED players , hire some TOP CLASS scouts to do that job for you.

Other than that im happy.

I thought Lescott was the best defender today and he has improved. Off course he's not worth the money but which footballer is. Thei'r overpaid primadonnas with NO f*cking respect for the working man whatsoever. I'm f*cking tired of heraring the word football.....atleast for an hour 'cos I love the game in general and Manchester City FC in particular and I'm angry and p*ssed off.

Lescott was great today in my opinion, and was good against Liverpool as well.

Barry's not been playing anywhere near his best for a month but there's no doubting that the man's one of the better (best) central midfielders in the league. Come Christmas we'll all be singing his praises.

Adebayor has five goals in ten and three assists. Given the long ball tactics often employed and the lone striker role, that's a pretty good return for someone new to the club, imo.

Just pack your bags
It may be my last year as a season ticket holder as it just doesn't seem the same with so few English and local players (but I said that last year)

Agreed with all points and if not for Lescott today they would have got a goal without a cheap ass penalty.

Lescott's best game for us today in my opinion - even leaving aside the goal-line clearance - he played well from the whistle and I didnt see a mistake from him.

What hurts is that for the last 35 years we have been shit, we have toiled and grinding a meek existence.

Now we are the luckiest club in the world, bar none, right now we are the richest team in the world.

This is what makes it so frustrating, we are in fucking brilliant shape, we have a BRAND NEW TEAM bar Ireland and SWP. YET WE ARE STILL TRYING OUT BEST TO FUCK IT ALL UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some people will moan about time, gel, let them settle, we they've fucking had time to settle and look at each others cocks in the shower, no more excuses, I demand 100% from every player. If they dont like the manager tough fucking shit, I dont like my boss he is useless and i could do his job better than he does, but I dont moan about it, I count myself lucky to have a job.

That Adebayor out there today was not the same Adebayor i saw against Blackburn or Westham, so whats gone wrong?

The players are probably looking round the dressing room thinking, "fucking hell we should be top of the league, but we're not, it must be because the manager is shit"

Hughes record is taking underdogs and eeking out an existence, where we are going is a totally different mindset, and Hughes doesnt have it / cant remember it.

The assesment of those players in the OP is bollox imho - the signings of these class players is hughes' saving grace but could also put him to the sword. The fact you outline these and no mention of the fuck up croque just adds to the lack of thought put in.
I think the problem lies elswere!

But of teh three you picked you picked bad examples. Adebayor is scoring well and creating assists. Would you prefer Dicov or Huckerby or Vasell? They run around like mad but didn't score. Ultimately Ade scores (is it 1 in 2?) and as that is the job of a striker.

Lescott ios slowly getting used to it here and is beginning to show why we wanted him. Was the price too much, definitely. But that goes for most players once City show and interest, just like Chelsea before us.

Barry is a regular fisrt choice starter for Capello. I think that says enough.

yeah i get your point but watching the team the past few weeks its not the positives that have been in the spotlight. Like today , i dont expect us to win the league or even finish top 4. Id like us to finish top 4 but really the team we had out should be beating hull???? i was well gutted and pissed off , i really dont get it.

Like after half time there was no urgency to push on and be direct , it was like robinho, adebayor wanted to just play at walking pace.

I still think poor communication in the defence is the main issue. They are still getting used to each other annd there have been choping and changing becuase of injuries and suspentions. We have scored in pretty much every game so any clean sheet would have been three points.

OP is way off the mark. Without Adebayor's early season goals we'd be bottom 6 now. Barry will find his form again and would be better utilised in place of De Jong in the role Capello uses him for. Lescott is a good player but the wrong partner for Toure. That is not his fault, it's Hughes's. I'd turn him into a left back.

I've much more of an issue Tevez and Santa Cruz. Santa looks like a slow version of Samaras and Hughes needs to fine Tevez every time he shoots from outside the box. All this crap that we need to see "more effort" really irritates me. We need to see a bit less effort from the likes of Tevez and a bit more use of the brain!

I know i'm going slightly against the flow , but for me Toure is the defensive problem and not Lescott. He is captain , and there seems to be absolutely no organisation there. I know there are some guys that don't like Dunne on this site , but since he's been gone we are shipping in goals and it just doesn't seem to be getting better. Also, this time to gel crap , doesn't hold with me. They've had long enough now to come to an understanding with each other.

Agree there.

The qualty of ball into Adebayor is terrible. Its no wonder he switches off. He surely cant enjoy being flogged like this by Hughes. He is being used all wrong.

Santa Cruz hasnt had much of a shot yet but in every appearance he has not looked deserving of another one. Are we not using him right? Hughes should surely know how to get the best out of this fella.

I have no idea where Tevez is being played. I have no idea why he is playing like he has his boots on the wrong feet either.

Why was SWP taking corners yesterday when is biggest negative is that he cannot cross a football.

Why does Stephen Ireland get himself into great shooting positions then lay the ball off.

Why cant £15 million + De Jong dictate the play and set the tempo in midfield against hull and more to the point why cant he pass the ball?

Why have we sacrificed last seasons formation and pattern of play which was watchable and beginning to work for a formation in which the team hasnt looked comfortable of dominating in all season?

As someone who always advocated giving Hughes a chance, what is beng dished up this season is not acceptable and i'd be drawing up a list of replacements sharpish.

I think it sums up the questions we all have.

On de Jong, did anyone see the little warm up exercise in front of the Main stand 15/20 mins before kick off where two teams were playing "keep ball". De Jong was fucking abysmal, lost it nearly every time the ball came to him. More importantly, (and someone has mentioned this in De Jong threads as their main criticism) every time he did make a pass, he moved INTO a position from which the player could not pass it back to him. It is almost as if he was scared of the ball.

Incidentally the team with Robbie, Adebayor, Tevez were sublime, although they were unable to transfer this into the game

De Jong can quite simply be swapped for Kompany, no problem, just like how Hughes actually had the balls to drop Barry today.

Thing is Hughes makes a couple of changes and usually plays the first 11 that most of us would pick, but it doesnt work so another little change is made, which seems like a great idea but maybe the 11 he picks as best should be kept together for a run of games.

Personally although its a dream having such a great squad, it makes the job tougher in some respects.

Kompany needs a chance and Weiss needs more game time be it starts or 15 mins at the end.
