This Weekends Other Games

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

How fucking good was that! The Rags had a total of 2 shots on target compared to Spurs 8 yet they manage to score. Spurs played the better football but were cancelled out up front by Taggarts negative tactics. Reminded me of a similar set-up when they played us last year; park the bus and hit them on the break.

I was convinced that Spurs wouldn't score and when I saw Taggart stood next to the 4th official lifting the board I'd actually given up. Spurs proved me wrong though and the goal had me jumping out of my seat as if it was City scoring. Well deserved by Spurs but you can bet the only talking point will be the Rooney penalty incident and I'm certain Uniteds negative tactics will not be mentioned.

Get in, that's a killer for the Rags going into the run-in. But don't forget, United are always at their best in the 2nd half of the season. You'll be told as much from now on.

That pissed up old cunt has just suggested that the lino is bent. Will he get away with it? Course he will. That was not a penno btw. Rooney kicked the back of his leg. Classic skullduggery.

That's how I seen it but the 2 Rags I was [strike]taunting[/strike] debating it with said it was a stonewall penalty. Funny that ;-)

The ref didn't give the Rooney 'penalty' because he does the "arching your back in mid air" thing that every cheating scum sucking diving tosser uses to try and influence the decision.

I know mate, I was more talking about the Rag Tops and the Sky sychophants who peddle the usual line. The commentary on Sky today was ridiculous. The 'Master Class' statement regarding Carrick had me in stitches.

Absolutely outrageous from SAF and surely surely he won't get away with it AGAIN. And yes Rooney manipulated getting his leg into Caulker's and should have been booked for his efforts.

I've not seen it mate, is that conclusive?

On another note, I listened to the game on Radio 5 Lies and (leaving aside the nauseating sycophancy of this 2 hours ragathon) I couldn't believe how little the commentary team talk about the game. You could hear the crowd reacting in the background and these two planks are talking about the snow/how wonderful the rags are....

If they had won that we would have been hearing about it for yonks. How brilliant SAF was with his tactics, how great Carrick and Duncan were in their defensive midfield roles etc etc. Now that they only drew it will focus on them being unlucky but it should be on the fact that they didn't play very well, went for a 1 nil win, resorted to professional fouls time and again and were hanging on desperately at the end.

They will be gutted now in the changing rooms just as Gary Neville was on Sky

The defender put his foot in, missed the ball and Rooney's back leg caught it. It would have been the defender's own stupid fault for putting his foot there in the first place.

Anyway. United were shit.

Neville and Redknapp still raving about thier tactics and saying they could play that way and get a result vs Madrid. They were shit, if not for RVP they would have been well beaten.

Side note it's no surprise that spurs scored when Parker went off, he really is awful going forward. Lennon was quality and should have been given the ball at every opportunity. One time they passed the ball in the box ended with a goal.

Makes me appreciate how good City actually are!

Some of those fouls were ridiculous, so cynical in the execution. The one where a Rag tried to rip Dembele's shirt off and got away with it was beyond belief and the one where Jones tried to drag the same player down and then kick out at him was well worthy of the referees attention, yet again he didn't call it. I also noted that many of those 50/50 calls went in favour of the Rags such as a couple of corners, especially the one where Carrick basically took it out with it stuck between his feet.

What an important goal...!!!

I wont even comment the referee, although it was a clear penalty on Rooney tbf.
The most important thing for a forward is speed of thought. Top players read the game.

I disagree. Both players came together and Rooney kicked the back of his leg. It could've been given but if I was a ref I'd be looking at where Rooney was going and as it was away from goal I would give it the same as Foy. I'd probably give Rooney a red for just being there as well, but that's me.
