I'm not sold on yet another holding midfield either, especially a 30 year old, we got fat baz for that. I want to see someone central, creative and speeding things up, especially on the counter.

Would much rather have Alonso, we could get a full contract of usage out of him, he is Prem proven, would take much less (if any) time to adapt having lived close to the area already and with the ability to speak English, and he would increase the team's potential to create chances. Having said that, I hope we don't sign another deep midfielder.
So this is how it feels to be City,
This is what it means to stand tall,
This is how it feels when our club has no debt at all.

We did that in the summer but Scott Sinclair just isn't getting enough time to take the flack

My hope for this window is that any incoming business we are doing is concluded within a week.By right if we are looking at players you would expect the groundwork to be done and a deal in place already. The last window was a bit of a farce and i would rather see no movement at all than see the likes of that again.

i hope we keep Lescott and Kolo, at least until the end of the season.

i don't think we need anybody...unless we sell Balo, which we won't. maybe a central midfielder on loan just to make up the numbers.

I don't think Falcao leaves AM and we won't get de Rossi either.

As Sinclair has now played for 2 Prem lge teams this season - Swansea away at QPR, and for City very sporadically - the only place he could go would be back to Swansea. Unlikely.

Honestly I don't think we'll sign anyone - January is not the time to be signing players as they really don't settle until the end of the season / start of next (Dzeko), so unless we have a player available now that we can't wait until the summer for (De Jong) then we will stack them up for Summer strengthening & that disregards who is manager as we're very much in the system where Burgerstain & Solano (or whatever they are called) are calling the shots with Mancini's input being to draw up a Christmas list & we all know Santa can't get you everything off that list & gets you some things you never expected & sometimes end up loving

This is a very good shout. He would be the ideal replacement for Barry and getting him ASAP would make the transition from Barry's inevitable decline smoother.

Apart from Nastasic the whole summer signings have been horrendously poor. Who says that January will be any different?

Shouldn't have let de Jong go really. Needs some centre mid cover I think in January.

Would be ideal if he is available, where did that info come from that he is available?

His passing range is brilliant and he has always been a consitently good performer.

Why are you writing Gaz off ??? He has been a great success for us ( especially in mancini's reign ) , alonso is the same age and therefore not a long term proposition.

Barry and Alonso are both 31 - that hardly makes Alonso a long term replacement, we've got to give the new signings time as they were rushed end if window buys & look how long it's taken Milner to prove his worth

Mancini only wants de Rossi because he's Italian, one of the reasons he puts up with mario so much to.

Demba Ba: Chelsea trigger Newcastle striker's release clause
Chelsea have triggered the release clause in Newcastle forward Demba Ba's contract.
Ba, 27, has been given permission to speak to Chelsea and will miss Wednesday's game against Everton.
It is believed his contract contains a clause which allows him to speak to other clubs in the event of a £7m bid.
The Senegalese, who joined Newcastle from West Ham in June 2011, is currently joint-second top scorer in the Premier League with 13 goals.

Ba has scored 36 Premier League goals since arriving in 2011. Only Robin van Persie (64) and Wayne Rooney (44) have more in that era.
The clause in Ba's contract became active on 1 January.
Newcastle have attempted to negotiate a new deal with the Senegal international in recent months, which would remove the clause, but with little success.
Ba had stints at Rouen and Mouscron before moving to Hoffenheim in 2007.
The German club agreed to let him move to Stoke in a reported £6m deal in January 2011 but Ba failed a medical, according to the Potters, and the striker eventually secured a move to West Ham later that month.
The forward scored seven goals in 13 games, but invoked a release clause in his contract after the Hammers were relegated.
Newcastle needed a player to replace Andy Carroll, who had joined Liverpool for £35m, and signed Ba on a three-year deal in June 2011.
The Senegalese player scored 16 goals during his first full season as Newcastle finished fifth and qualified for the Europa League.
He is the club's top scorer this season and his departure would leave just Papiss Cisse and Shola Ameobi as the only senior strikers at the club. The pair have scored eight goals between them during the current campaign.

The Toon can just shove Cisse up there as both together don't work - just waiting for Ba's knee to go as the reason why the clause was so low & Stoke turned him down before signing for the barcodes
