Weiss Friday's B*ll*x

Vladimir Weiss insists that he is not guaranteed a place in Slovakia's historic first appearance at the World Cup finals ... even though his dad will be picking the team!

Vladimir Senior has become a national hero by coaching the unfancied Slovaks to South Africa next summer with City Academy product Vladi winning rave reviews for some wing wizardry. But the 19-year-old prospect battling to force his way into Mark Hughes' first team reckons he will have to figure more regularly for City to be certain of making his mark next June.

Proud Vladi says: "Nobody expected us to be there, so it's a great achievement for Slovakia, the first time we've ever qualified. For me and my dad, it's just unbelievable! But it's seven months away and I'm not thinking that I'm definitely going. My mum will be there to support my dad and hopefully me. But I need to play more to be sure of getting in the squad

Weiss, who made an eye-catching City debut off the bench in the final game of last season against Bolton, produced a sparkling cameo in the 5-1 Carling Cup win over Scunthorpe last month. He said: "The last game I was OK, I went past my man a few times. That's always a great feeling. My style of play does excite the fans, I like to beat players. But I've not played that many."

So might Vlad's dad face a tough decision? "I played for Slovakia when I'd not really played here. He still gave me the chance. I think I took it - since I got in the Slovakia team I've started every game. The fans back home support me, which is good to know."

Guti's agent bollox:

I think the key phrase which proves this crap is this one. A real Les player eh? Non-premier, prima donna, 33, goes on the piss!!!: The player recently admitted his relationship with Pellegrini was a 'difficult situation' and further caused controversy when talking of how he enjoyed going to nightclubs till six in the morning.

Guti learns English amid bidding war by Manchester United and City for the Real Madrid star
By Sportsmail Reporter
Last updated at 11:19 AM on 27th November 2009

Real Madrid vice-captain Guti is taking English lessons ahead of a battle between Manchester United and City for his signature in January, it has been claimed.
The Spain international has been frozen out at the Bernabeu after a furious row with coach Manuel Pellegrini and has his heart set on a move to the Barclays Premier League.
Madrid are asking £4million, a high price for a 33-year-old, but reports in Spain say United and City are both keen to add his experience to their midfield.

City were linked to Guti in the summer and now United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has joined the race, seeing him as someone who can provide creativity in the absence of Paul Scholes, reports Spanish newspaper AS.
For the last few weeks, an English tutor has been visiting Guti's home, says the paper.
The skilful midfielder has been ruled out of 'El Clasico' with a thigh injury, but the minor strain has masked a fall-out with Pellegrini that has seen him fail to play since Madrid's 4-0 cup defeat by third division Alcorcon in October.
Guti was substituted at half time after a reported dressing room row with his Chilean boss.

The player recently admitted his relationship with Pellegrini was a 'difficult situation' and further caused controversy when talking of how he enjoyed going to nightclubs till six in the morning.
There is also interest from the Middle East, though Guti is likely to choose another big challenge before seeing out the final years of his career with a lucrative move to Asia

In fairness, going out til 6am in Spain is nothing special- I'd equate that to staying out til about 1 or 1.30 in Britain, as nightclubs rarely open before 2 in Spain (apart from on the Chav Coasts). Also, the popularity of night-time games in Spain means it hardly affects someone's sleep patterns going out like that.
