Daniel Sturridge in "bad attitude" shocker

Postby ant london » Wed Nov 25, 2009 1:35 pm

from today's Leo's London in the Mail.....haha

LEO'S LONDON: Daniel Sturridge could do worse than follow the example of Chelsea's latest sensation Gael Kakuta

Daniel Sturridge could learn a lesson or two from Chelsea's latest young debutant. Gael Kakuta has been working extremely hard to keep himself in shape since a ban on him playing was imposed because of a transfer row.

So much so in fact that the club used him as a substitute against Wolves on Saturday, watched him struggle a little to find form in the reserves on Monday and then flew him with them to Porto anyway.

Image

His attitude and commitment have been impressive and he has been rewarded. Sturridge, on the other hand, has slipped out of the reckoning for now and could be left a long way behind at the rate he is going.

Just a few months after making a big move from Manchester City, the 20-year-old has already earned himself a reputation for having a bad attitude.

It sounds like Sturridge is a big-timer before he has proved he can cut it at the top and, injury niggles or not, seeing Kakuta's elevation will either sting him into action or make him sulk. If he wants to be a star player at a top club, there shouldn't be any question about what his reaction will be.

He may talk up his "dream move" to Chelsea but thats not what the book will say when he releases his memoirs, which will admit he should never have been a big-headed, selfish, greedy bastard and left City.

Shit, really bad timing. The tribunal must be sitting some time soon to thrash out the monetary situation.....we may end up paying Chelsea to keep the twat.

Rather see him rot at Chelsea miself, wouldn't like him to be getting first team football anywhere. Cocky little gobshites like him are the scurge of English football, too much too soon. They want it all and are not willing to either wait nor earn it.

Read about an un-named North East footballer who phoned his agent in London when a gardener turned up at his house to do the garden, the footballer didn't want him to do it at that particular time but wouldn't/couldn't tell the gardener himself. He made his agent talk to the gardener and tell him instead. Pampered little dick.

I sorta feel sorry for the kid.
I don't suppose it's easy to keep your feet on the floor when everyone has been telling you that you're a genius from and early age.

Too much too soon....but who gave it to him???

Apart from that, he's no longer a City player, so I couldn't give a shit.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

He also made his choices knowing some of the risks and having them explained. There were no shortage of people here who will have let him know that. He has family in the business too.

Since he moved he's made probably a millions pounds in wages so far and with the injuries he's had he's had plenty of time to think about whether he'll make a lot of money. Think about how long you need to work to earn that and see whether you feel the same. He knew exactly what he was doing.

What really should be mentioned is that this story is from the Mail and that Kakuta is flavour of the month. He hasn't really done anything special attitude wise. Let's see, he's kept training while banned (more anon), he's talked about how playing weaker prem teams as easier than the reserves -- as disrespectful to the opposition as you can get and pretty damn unprofessional. Oh and he deserved his ban for signing a contract and then illegally signing another one just because he was offered more money by a rival club. That sort of shit can threaten the clubs that are dependent on home produced players (as most clubs should be). Like Sturridge he's totally screwed over the people who developed him, unlike Sturridge he didn't reject Chelsea the first time only to relent a few years later.

Now his ban is temporarily suspended (while it's being appealed) and he goes around lording it up and acting bigger-headed than Sturridge ever did. Fine upstanding example of a young professional footballer; just like Mikel, who went on strike for a year (with no football) just to screw his new and old club out of transfer payments so he could get himself a fatter pay-check.

I don't get why any City fan wouldn't want the tribunal to tear Chelsea a new arsehole over Sturridge, if only to stop them stealing the most talented kids from other clubs (bankrupting them in the process) and using them to try and sustain a challenge to the dominance I would like us to establish.
