Nice draw.

Unfortunate for Ledley King injuring a finger while drawing the teams.

This is the 3rd time we've met in the FA Cup over the years.

1986...Rnd 4 @ Maine Rd....D...1-1, 1st replay @ Vicarage Rd...D...0-0 and 2nd replay back @ Maine Road, we lost 1-3.
1997...Rnd 4 @ Maine Rd....W...3-1.

Honours even.

I doubt Ferguson will take this match as lightly as the last time we were drawn together in the cup.

Assuming too that it will be televised.

Allardyce isn't known for giving much time to the domestic cups, so I rather expect the 3rd round will be the last to feature us this year (like the last!)

I'd suggest that Taggart will be picking your team mate ;-)

A home draw is always good. Watford are having a decent season in the Championship and will have nothing to lose against us, but overall I'm pleased.

Potentially tricky ties for Arsenal and Chelsea - would be great if they both got knocked out. If West Ham put as much effort in against United as they did against us and Chelsea then United could be in trouble. Whether Allardyce will go for it or not is another thing.

Presumably tickets would be easy enough to get for this?

Yep, I'll guess at about 30,000 of our loyal fans will manage to turn out for this one, no matter how cheap we knock out tickets.

ha ha - Sam does like Fergie, doesn't he? We came close to a draw last week and I see that, after our game, they've got the grudge match at OT against LFC.

They'd be favourites, but we'll see.

Dunno

On the one hand, he's reported to need 2 months to get back to full fitness....
on the other, he was up until dawn Sunday, partying with the lads on their Christmas night out.

If I had a full complement of players to look at, and had to pick a first eleven, he'd be on the bench anway.

Just hope for no balloons eh?

Aldershot away, 6 minute drive from my house would be nice. Not even sure if they are still in it? They aren't having a bad season

Where are you exactly? I spent the first thirty years of my life six minutes away from the Rec

It's a shame cos I'm afraid I'll miss it now but it was never going to be a TV game as we were home.
Hopefully apart from Watford as many teams as possible will prove to be 'giant-killers' in the 3rd round. wouldn't mind if all home teams went through in 3rd round!!
