When we bought Gareth of Villa he got a few assists and goals every season. When we got Yaya of Barça he did not have that as part of his game,so besides what Yaya did for us against them and the final,it is not his normal game whereas assisting and scoring was a part of Gareths.
So it seems strange people think Yaya is being a lazy bastard when he is playing the way he was when we bought him yet Gareth is not doing what he is capable of yet get lauded for it.

This is in keeping with your usual stupidity.

Yaya is not scoring or assisting much at all at the moment, but is not defending especially well either so why would he be lauded for it ?

Barry, on the other hand, is the only player who can be relied upon to defend, in a midfield containing Yaya, Nasri & Silva. The fact that Mancini is willing to put out that line up, with 2 up front, v Everton, shows how much he trusts & rates Barry. The bloke was remarkable yesterday.

I have always said Yaya is unreliable defensively, & sometimes lazy. More people are noticing it now because he is not being as successful going forward. Imo, he will have a better spell sooner or later & all will be forgotten. He should not be relied upon as a defensive player though. I would like to see him played up closer to a striker once or twice, like in Bob's early days, just to throw the oppo off their tactics.

Yaya Toure is the most prolific passer of the ball in the whole league, having completed 609 at an incredible rate of just under one every two minutes according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index.

But the lazy cunt doesnt know where to stand like Gareth does.

Those sideways balls are real match winners.

I could point you in the direction of some stats that disprove that but I have a feeling they might not be considered to be relevant as they dont correspond with what you have seen.

I had the argument with a rag friend of mine who said Yaya doesn't pass forward or set chances up.
Needless to say I pulled some stats out the bag to show that Yaya was second (at the time) on through balls and creating chances behind that Spanish kid at Arsenal.

I'm not sure how I can help anyone who doesn't rate Barry. It's a comedy act, right?

What I see is one cog in a larger wheel that slows the game down for us - I made a post about it last season that the ball seems to go through him a lot, possibly too much. He's not soley responsible for us playing slowly (particularly when he makes his barnstorming runs every now and then) but he DOES contribute to the problem. I think we play too continentally as a whole and there's not enough 'English' play to our game (meaning we play possession football with slow probing attacks and rarely do we play with directness and at a high tempo) - which is ironic considering we are stuggling on the continent and not in the league.
