Season Stats

We are averaging 1.75 points per game, this equates to 66.5 for the season.

Based on last year that would pout us 5th.

Spurs have 1.92 points per game and have faced all of the big 4.

Villa have 1.69 points per game and still have to face Arsenal and the Scum before Dec, plus we have a game in hand on them.

As it stands we seem on track for 5th, if the recent form was just a lull (as I hope/suspect) then we may finish 4th with little change.

Obviously far too early to look at May, but it is nice to see where we are going when it is as positive as this.

If you check Spuds results, they struggle to get points against the lesser teams. If you look at results this season, they've dropped points against inferior opposition, Bolton comes to mind. I'm very happy for the spotlight to be on Spuds as long as we tuck in just behind.

their highs are home wins against Sunderland and Liverpool (placed 7th and 8th).
Their other wins are against the teams placed 13,14,15,16,17,19,20 in the table

Their lows are a home loss to Stoke, dropping points at home to 18th placed Bolton and letting each of Arse, Chelsea and Scum put 3 past them with 1 goal against ManU at home the only reply.

I do envy the 5 they put past Burnley and Hull and the 9 at the weekend though. That'd be fun.

Liverpool will hit stride soon enough and then we will really have to up our game. Long term, Gerrard, Riera, Johnson, Torres and whoever else will find fitness. N'Gog has proven he's a handful so that's one thing Rafa has up on last season. Xabi might be a massive loss but we can't think Spurs' Jekyll and Hide show (0-3, 5-0, 1-3, 9-1, etc) is threat number one just yet.

I think Spurs inconsistency will be their undoing, but you are right, when Liverpool hit their form they will really be a favourite for 4th. Let's hope we can get a gap up before that happens.

I was half hoping Zabba would do a job on Gerrard at the weekend so that their side would be crippled until after xmas.

I do expect the Spurs bubble to burst but am a little apprehensive that it wont, especially after their bigger scorelines, it has got to be a good thing for confidence? They have a belting 1st team but not an impresive bench.

Nigel aimed for him and got Babel, fucking wrinkly dog screws us by getting Benayoun subbed on....I blame De Jong.

it was a beast of a challenge though....he took both of them out pretty much. Class

agreed re the substitution though. I don't get Benitez re Benayoun and why he won't start him in games like Saturday.

Benayoun is returning from injury so that would explain the weekend, but I would play him every single time over Babel...maybe he is just stubborn as pig shit and won't admit Babel is not the £13M player he shelled out for.
