I read that too. During the years I have become more and more interested in City's history. A train in the ground on match days must have made a difference to the atmosphere.

There is a famous picture of Hyde Rd, complete with a locomotive between the pitch and the fans.
I've seen it a few times but would love a copy if someone knows where to dig it out.

I loved the bit about selling a stand to Halifax - it makes me want to go and see it now.
