I like him quite a lot - the players at Chelsea all seemed to respect him (and actually like him) in his short time there.

"The adjudicatory chamber of the Ethics Committee ... has banned Mr Joseph S. Blatter ... for eight years and Mr Michel Platini ... for eight years from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) on a national and international level. The bans come into force immediately." - 21/12/2015

I would be shocked if the owners don't care after all they have invested, they are not stupid. I think their plans are genuinely over 3-5 years as they have always stated. Hiddick would be an interesting choice but each set of circumstances are different. At Chelsea he took an established team with a settled squad used to winning things and got them playing again. Basically he was repairing the damage Scolari did (a manger who was being begged for on here and is definitely not a club manager).

If he came to us he would be trying to build the team with respect to stability, gelling, change of mentality, getting the fans in the same mentatlity as well (12th man and all that). Its a different kind og challenge.

Thats why some people appear bright until they open their mouth.

DISCLAIMER- My views are mine alone, and probably rubbish anyway.

By God Vhero you don't half post some utter tripe sometimes mate.

Of course Hiddink is an outstanding manager. We'd probably only get a couple of years out of him though and then we'd have to rebuild and start again. The manager we need to become a dominant force to match united has to be young IMO.

I'm all for Hiddink but my number one target would be Mourinho.
"Like all bullies, they've just found out that there is a much bigger guy in town, someone who is richer and more powerful than their worst nightmare. And this smiling Arabic assassin is intent on stealing all the treasures they've nicked off everyone else, and pulverising them into commercial and footballing oblivion as he does so."
