Don't you think that would be better placed in here viewtopic.php?f=119&t=28123

Are you saying I can't discuss the manager in the match thread after a game?

Seeing as you also just made this comment "Do you think my opinion is based off today's game only?" it obviously doesn't belong in the match thread.

Remember we are a mid table side and have been for alont time.I see progress, fight and spirit in our squad. We do make mistakes but so do all the other prem teams..Lighten up.

Well I feel sorry for your girlfriends who's partner aspires to medicority.

Iv got a fuck buddy whos a scouse fan and shes just rang to say City were very unlucky to not get the win.
Edge m8..I can understand you are fucked off with throwing the 3 points away but we are a better, more positive team now..Do you know we have scored only 1 goal at anfield since since 2004? We bagged a brace today and were by far the better team in the 2nd half..I see alot of balls from our squad..In the past going behind to the pool we would just lie down and die. Keep smilin tuff guy :-)

You cant buy success it has to be earnt on the field.Money does help big time.Do Real Madrid win the Spanish and Chumps League ev season with all there cash that they have speant...NO.....Money helps but not a remedy for success..Time is what City need more than anythin else..To use money as an excuse for slating the club and manager is ludicrous and you know it

Yes quite obviously discussion of the manager is stupid to do in a match thread. What the hell is this place coming to.

Anyway, sorry for not adding to the game but I was watching it in the pub (part-time supporter I know). the game went as I thought, we'd try to stop them playing on their ground and tey to get them on the break, which didn't work. What I couldn't stand in the first half was the needless hoofing up the pitch, Ade can't get them all. Second half was much better and when we play, we play very well. The problem is, we only seem to play like that in short spells and it was the same in the Burnley, Fulham and Arsenal games; just wish we could do that for the full 90, but eh, it's nice to see anyway.

Personally, I'm happy with the score. A score draw away to the likes of Liverpool is very good in my opinion, regardless of their form. They have a good squad who have played together far more than ours and when we took the lead, I thought we could go on and win it. But as they say, you've got to concentrate after scoring, but once again we didn't.

PS. The Tevez introduction changed the match, and from 1-0 down, he took it to them, well done Carlos!

No, the whole point is that every thread on here ends up as a Hughes out rant. Thats why the Hughes thread was started, so there could be conversations on other topics.

No mate, this is the perfect place and should be talked about in relation to the game especially. For me personally, I thought the players had to take a lot of what went on in the first half, but came back strong in the second. Whether that was Hughes' half time speech or the intoduction of Tevez I don't know, but it was a very entertaining second half. We went from a loss to a possible win, and back to a draw. Not bad in my books in an individual game against Liverpool, but if you're going to put it into the 6 game drawing streak then it's a bit different.

To put it into perspective, what points did we get against the same teams last year, minus Burnely?

It's near impossible to discuss the club without any reference to the manager.

Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.

The only thing that annoyed me today was our refusal to play football before Liverpool scored a goal. If we'd have played with that level of commitment in the first half today I believe we'd be walking away with 3 points!

To be honest, not many as individuals, however as a team I'd probably swap the lot if I didn't know that our's were going to get better over the course of the season.

Quite seriously, I think we showed Liverpool far too much respect today. What we didn't pay enough respect to was Gerrards ability with a dead ball by giving away that silly free kick at the edge of the box.

I'll take the point, given how shite we were in the 1st half. Questions should be raised as to why we start games so poorly, surely the team is only making it harder for themselves. Game in, game out we see players constantly hoofing the ball and this is now really getting beyond a joke, It's obvious to every man and his dog that it doesn't work, so why do they keep doing it? Once again I felt we showed the opposition far more respect than they actually deserved. I can't help but feel had we played like we did after going a goal down from the start, then we would've left with 3 points. Let's hope Villa and Spuds slip up this weekend, because right now we don't look anywhere near like the team leading the charge for 4th spot.

On a brighter note, I thought Lescott was much improved today, Tevez showed real signs of being a 25 million pound player and it was no coincidence that the game was turned on it's head with his introdcution. Also great to see Ned back.

I don't think it was respect for Liverpool that the lads were displaying. It was a lack of confidence.

Point at Anfield, at any time, is a good one - the problem is the silly ones weve tossed away to Fulham and Burnley - if you added those 4 on to our total we'd all be happy. City need to put 3-4 wins together again in the league which is ceratinly possible as out of 12 games in the league, 7 have been away.
