Ireland need to get over it - Keane

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Watch the press conference if you can, it's extraordinary. It's far worse than you'd even expect from the quotes. He really twists the knife.

There's a blackness in his heart that escapes and leaves you feeling almost pity for him. He's like some version of Captain Ahab where hate and bitterness have consumed every bit of goodness there might ever have been in him. He makes Bacon Face look charming in comparison.

A horrible prick of a man, you said it Ronk. He shit on his country and then when someone else shits on his country he says we should just 'get over it'.

An economist was on today saying us not being in the WC could cost the Irish economy in the region of £100m. A nice sum in times of recession and depression, not to mention the lift it would give everyone.

Nasty piece of shit and I'm not one bit suprised we have that absolute cunt of a poster that calls himself a city fan R_A_G, saying "good on ya Roy Keane" and heaping praise on him...

How he is still able to infect this site posing as a city fan is beyond me, when day in day out he insults the manager and players and then has the fucking audacity to praise Roy Keane.

You and Roy Keane are made for each other. Hopefully one day you'll be fucked out of here just like you were fucked out of Citymancs for being a negative, wind up cunt.

Enjoy destroying the site I used to love... its all yours.

I have given you time to come across to everyone on here that you truly are a blue, however, now more than ever do I think that you are not. Not one blue would ever come out with a phrase like that. Majority of us cannot bear the say his name. I am sorry rigsby, but enough is enough for my sanity and majority of the board.

Agreed. Every now and the rig actually posts something sensible which makes me think that he's not an utter idiot, but then he ruins it with pots like that. Roy Keane is an absolute cunt. End of story.

You know I'm damned if I can figure you guys out. Keane is a c**t but I had to agree with some of his comments even if a lot of it was laced with bitter emnity for the FAI and people with mobile phones. Yet if you agree with something Keane says you are somehow not a blue?

I'll concede that I have yet to tune in to the vibe of this forum and that the sensibilities on here are not naturally shared by myself - or at least so it would seem - so in that sense it is not a criticism, just not a meeting of minds. Which happens. No biggie.

there's a difference between agreeing with something the cunt says and proclaiming "good on ya Keane" like he's your best fucking friend.

A couple of others agreed with some of what he said.... why?

BECAUSE ITS FUCKING OBVIOUS.

Of course if we'd have put another goal past France we'd still be going to the world's biggest event, but everyone with a half a brain knows we were cheated badly out of having a penalty shootout, which I would have had quite a lot of confidence going into.... why?
Because I have every faith in the world class goalkeeper we have, unlike Keane, who not only belittled a nation in mourning, but also went on to blame Given for the goal.

If we'd have scored more goals than France we would have went through. Thanks for that insight Roy - is that the team talk you give the mighty ipswich town before every game?

everything else he said is complete bollox because at the end of the day, if Henry hadn't have handled it, it would have gone harmlessly out of play and the keeper he blamed would have had a goal kick.

Fuck it anyway, he'll be fired soon enough and if he finally has the cop on to know that he will never cut it as a manager because he's generally a nasty cunt that nobody wants to be around, then he can grace your TV screens as a pundit.... and when he pisses everyone off at that, he will eventually disappear off the radar and all he'll be is a warm glow in the hearts of Manchester United fans across the world.

He will certainly never be an Irish legend in my eyes because no Irish legend thinks of himself above everyone else around him.

In heroism, there has to be humility.

Bob, the sooner you figure it out the better; Roy Keane is a total poisoned cunt on every level and I would consider myself fairly tolerent. Keanes demons are destroying him from the inside out, and he intends on taking as many mother fuckers with him as possible....scary....very scary

OD - spot on, he was a traitor to his country in 2002 and he still is!

Plus hes a wank manager who used the perfect oportunity to deflect his own incopitence (sp?) as Ipswich manager

so to clarify, was that a goodbye post from RIG?

Keane is a cunt of the highest order, but a lot of what he said was factually correct - but there is a time and a place. Would he not have been the first to jump the ref had he been on the pitch - would he have got over it, would he fuck.

What I found bizarre was that for someone who was the Ireland captain, was to see the bitterness with which he said "get over it". He is incredibly out of touch with how important it is for the people of any nation to see their country do well in a competition - what an utter contemptable cunt.

Fair dos, have a go at the FAI, but what was said was almost as big a kick in the teeth for all Irish football supporters as the handball itself. What an horrible horrible contemptible, self consumed cunt.

Keane is best summed up by two stark facts.

1) He walked out on his own country at the last minute from the biggest football tournament you can play in, namely the World Cup, leaving themin the lurch because of course it's always about Roy Keane and no-one else in his world.

2) He was suspendend from playing in the biggest club game of his life, namely the 1999 Champs Lge Final.

It must be said whilst Keane was giving that interview, he did come across as though he was all consumed with an inner hatred, he was virtually spitting.

I cant see him walking in to a boozer in Cobh any time soon, or just returning to Ireland after that interview..
