What a s****y sport football is.

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

What a s****y sport football is.

Postby crossan » Thu Nov 19, 2009 1:41 pm

Only in football could a team/individual progress to a major tournament by cheating and get away with it,FIFA have not even mentioned it!the French TV did not even show any giant screen replays of the goal in the stadium last night,ITS A JOKE,FOOTBALL BASICALLY IS A CORRUPT JOKE OF A SPORT,SHAME ON FIFA,SHAME ON HENRY,SHAME ON FRANCE.

Agree Crossan.

For the last few weeks I've been quietly hoping beyond hope that someone in the FAI would have hired a private investigator to bug Platini and the refs and find the smoking gun. I had no doubt they'd cheat if they needed to.

Whats worse is people put us in this brackets of teams who can do what we want because we got money when clearly that's not the case. We end up paying MORE because we have to not because we have it now.

Unfortunately it comes with the territory,Moneybags city attracts mercanaries who are just using us for a nice little earner,I have no affinity with 90% of the players currently at our club other than those who were here before the money rolled in.

Got to agree on this post and that somone somewhere in the powers that be need to get a grip. The game is being ruined bit by bit by these cheeting wankers.

As much as I love City I would hate us to win a major game with blatant cheeting like last night.

What do you expect, some people actually sound surprised!?! This isn't just a problem within football, but a problem in all walks of life, just look at the politicians, banks etc. Time to face facts and realise football is corrupt.

I am suprised that anyone is suprised.
Human nature hasn't suddenly changed, cheating in all works of life has been going on since Adam was a lad.
Cheating wasn't suddenly invented by this present generation.

Corruption in football has generally been viewed as the exception, rather than the rule. Every so often there'd be a scandal and everyone would be (often mock) outraged, someone would be punished and everyone would go back to business.

This goes right to the centre of power of the game. If Platini &c didn't want this they'd have been making the most noise. They just want this to die away as quickly as possible.

My apathy towards football is huge nowadays, if family things are happening at the same time as a City match then family wins every time now. It never used to be like that with me. City were my life, my whole life revolved around the club but nowadays i only have an affinity with the players who come through our ranks, Ireland, Micah, Nedum etc, and that will never change but the players who are mercanaries i couldn't give two shits about whether they come or go. That's why i'm not that arsed about Robinho leaving, deep down i feel like his heart has never been in the club and that goes for the rest of them. I don't blame them for using us to get to where they want to be in their careers as it can only benefit City in the long run but at the end of the day we are just supporting laundry, the bodies inside join and leave whenever it suits.

Great line from McCarthy FiFA Forget Irish Football Altogether. Anyone who thought when the seedings were announced(not at the start of the competition) that Ireland were going to win were deluded.

We need some FA with balls to organise a "No confidence vote" in the current hierachy. Alas it wont happen due to the ammount of backhanders given to African FA`s.

My thoughts exactly regarding City, however my apathy towards football in general is total,I doubt very much that I will dip in to next years world cup.
