Ive never watched a single minute of MLS but after extensive research if i decided to watch it i'd follow
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Jose_EarthquakesPurely because they play in California and are making a new stadium with a grass bank at one end.

I watch MLS, it helps me get to sleep at night. Better football played in the Gorton Vets League.

I've always liked the irony of Real Salt Lake's name. Plus the further irony of their fans not understanding the concept of irony.

Wait wait wait, they have a team called Real? Do you think they know what it means? Do they play at Salt Lake Palace?

For me it is Chicago Fire, purely because I like the area of Chicago and following their NFL team with a passion, I have also taken a spot of support for all the state's other sporting teams.
I have though never seen any MLS game live or even highlights.

I keep a pretty close eye on the seattle sounders. A fun club to watch, and their stadium is by far the best in the league, really sweet.

Do they have a 'Less-Important League Soccer' too? Or all they all crammed into one big sunday league outfit?

'Real' comes from 'Real Madrid' and the like.
The word is Spanish for 'Royal'.
America is a Republic.
This is irony.

I used to drive back to work early Monday mornings and got to watch the weekends MLS before I left. I've got to say that I was mesmorised by the pace it was played at and seemed to come back to it week-on-week. Although not top level, it is very entertaining!

it does have a certain energy to it...!
as i said - i did think it was a joke tournament with joke "fans" but i certainly don't anymore. looking forward to my first game next year.
as for the comments about the standard - i don't know where i'd put it. reckon some of the better teams would compete well in the championship?

i'm waiting for the Philadelphia Union expansion team next year!!
TBH, i've never watched a full MLS game cause I think its a bit shite..
but whatever, its the closest thing we have here.
I'll support my local team and the local players, hopefully they sign Ben Olsen... who is from my hometown.. plays for DC United now.. but was playing over in Enland a few years back.

I don't know mate, I reckon a few of them would ge a good run at the likes of Bolton et al, they don't seem to wimp out!

After watching quite a bit of it, I think the top teams would have a relagation fight with the likes of Hull, and Portsmouth. And the worst would probably fighting for survival in the championship.

Chicago Fire fan myself after living there for a while.
The MLS Cup Final is this Sunday and I've done a preview of it if anyone wants to have a read and get up to speed -

Used to follow it a bit while I was in college.
Kinda chose New York/New Jersey MetroStars as my team but apparently they've been bought out by Red Bull now?!
