How the fuck is Wes Brown ahead of Richards? He's been skinned all night by Nilmar, and was responsible for the opener and penalty.

Fabio, Wesley is a fucking dog...FACT

If Brown played for someone like Pompey there's no way he'd get an England call-up. He's shite!

Thought Lescott and Upson looked very solid together tonight.Bridge defended well but didnt get forward like he does for City..SWP worked hard and put a few excellent crosses in the box but he should attack the fullback more like he used to do,Barry worked very hard and made some great great tackles but he missed the class of Gerrard and Lampard round him.

Bridge looked very good tonight, And i think that was because he didnt go forward as much as he does for city like Shawzy mentioned. So because he didnt go forward as much he didnt leave the left side exposed as much and so brazil found it hard to supply crosses from the left side and so on because Bridge was there. Now i am not saying Bridge shouldent go forward but if he does then he must make sure one of the centre halfs or Barry or De Jong are covering and we should be ok!

England played a good game but Brazil just had that little bit more! With a full strength england side the score could have been a bit differant!

As much as I love Shaun, he ain't up to National level for me at the mo. I seriously think he will be struggling to make the squad for SA. Mind it will keep him fresh for us next season.

The game between Spain and Argentina has started if anyone is interested. Tevez is playing and a couple other stars!!
Here is a link for the game-

I have the rugby league 4 nations final on the tv, France and R.O.I. on one stream on the laptop and Spain vs Argentina on another. I know nearly all of us are watching the R.O.I game but is anyone watching the spain game or the rugby?

Liam Laurence has just missed a sitter for the R.O.I!!!! He had a full empty net to aim at and he misses from 7 yards out!

Come on Ireland!

I assume most of you missed the events in Egypt.

Algeria needed anything up to a one goal loss to qualify to the WC.
Two goals loss would mean setting another playoff with Egypt.
A 3 goals loss means Egyptian qualification.

It was 1-0 Egypt and all in Algerian way until 95th minute when Egypt scored the second ..

I saw it live and this replay just confirms my impression: Abou-Trika was offside!

What a dire evening for the Algerians

And now it's getting worse win France winning over the R.O.I.

Was hoping that Ireland would have seen of the Froggy bastards, but were simply outclassed in all areas of the pitch, I think Houghton got it right when he said that the Irish striker (Best I think it was), usually plays against Championship standard players and every now and again shines for Coventry, though not consistently enough, and yet today he was playing the same as he does in the Championship when against Gallas and Abidal.

When you consider that the likes of Benzema, Ribery and Nasri were not even involved today for France and yet Ireland were at full strength, I think they have blown their chance now......feel sorry for Given, Dunne and Keane as was hoping to see them at the World Cup.

Does anybody know how Portugal got on tonight?.....I hope they lose against Bosnia, if only for that Trannyboy cheating bastard rag scum to be at home watching on TV like the rest of us.

I've never seen anything like the scenes in the streets after the game last night. You would have thought they'd won the world cup rather than just having managed to achieve the right to a play off.

Many of you will probably have missed this story in the run up to last night's game....

Portsmouth pair Nadir Belhadj and Hassan Yebda, Hull's Kamel Ghilas and Blackpool's Hameur Bouazza narrowly avoided injury when Algeria's team bus was ambushed by a 100-strong mob of Eygpt fans hurling stones ahead of World Cup qualifier in Cairo.

Two players needed stitches to face and head wounds, and Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra said: 'The coach windows simply exploded. It was absolutely staggering. We didn't panic and the bus kept on moving, but we were all stretched out on the floor.'

Image

Egypt and Algeria play for a place in the World Cup on Saturday, 20 years after a similar make-or-break match between the teams sparked riots.

FIFA said that its delegation in Cairo was also looking into the incident. On Saturday, special forces, counter terrorism squads and plain clothes agents will be deployed in and around the 80,000-seat stadium. Police will search fans entering the stadium. Sharp objects, cans and glass bottles will be banned, the official said.

In Algiers, fans burned Egyptian flags.

Image

The Egypt foreign minister assured the Algerian government that their citizens would be safe in Cairo.

The match will determine which of the two African teams qualifies for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Both countries have been
in the competition twice before, but Algeria hasn't qualified in 24 years.

Egypt, a record six-time African Cup of Nations champion, last qualified for the World Cup 1990 but faces a tough challenge

Saturday. It needs to win by at least three goals to qualify - or by two to secure a playoff with Algeria.

Only just seen this.....good old Chiellini.....almost a blue always a blue!

Arsenal have been rocked by an injury to star striker Robin van Persie which could see him ruled out for around two months.

Van Persie was stretchered off during Holland's goalless friendly draw in Italy on Saturday night.

He damaged his ankle in a challenge with Giorgio Chiellini in the early stages of the clash.

Afterwards Dutch coach Bert van Marwijk suggested Van Persie had torn his ankle ligaments, althought the extent of the injury will not be determined until Sunday when tests will be carried out on the striker.

If confirmed, Van Persie would be facing around two months on the sidelines - something which would threaten to derail Arsenal's Premier League title challenge.

Van Persie has scored seven league goals for the Gunners this season, helping them to second place in the current standings.

They trail leaders Chelsea by five points but have a game in hand on their London rivals.

Unless he bucks up a bit mate I don't think his services will be required in SA or at City next season, not as a first choice anyway. No room for sentiment in world domination.

Lescott however was quite good, as was Bridge. Maybe he can play Brazil every week, not Burnley?

Agree with all of that.

I will be gutted for Shaun if he misses another world cup. But he has to pick his form up in a pretty big way to make that plane. He was pretty ordinary last night and those charmers at Talksport gave him a proper panning....saying effectively that there is no chance he'll be going to SA after that.

Lescott and Bridge both pretty good last night IMO
