There is a strong anti Irish theme in this thread Alex, come on FFS. Just cause the OP claims to be Irish, that doesn't mean that he can label the rest of us as 'rascist'.

I regret that one poster refers to the celtic fans as fenians but can't see anything in this thread criticising the Irish apart from the OP (who claims to be Irish). Bingo is asking what celtic has got to do with Ireland, Fidel and Lev are questioning Glawegians "pretending" to be Irish (for the behaviour of pretending not because there's anything wrong with being irish). RIG's having a go at "the Jocks".

please cut and paste me the quote other than the OP that says that there's anything wrong with any son or daughter of Ireland.

The ORIGINAL POSTER said we are rascist. Another post referred to those knobs as 'fenians'. That is enough in what was a short thread to take offence if you are irish, whether or not an irishman started it... which I find hard to believe - I'd say its more like someone whose parents come from Ireland or some shit....

I apologise to those I offended with my post, but the intention was to point out that just because a few knobs cause offence at a football game, a nation does not need to be labelled... then you take into account that this was in fucking scotland.

Now I have pointed out where the offence was taken and I'm not the only Irishman to get the vibe from this thread, so I'm not losing my mind... I'm proud as fuck of where I come from so I do take it pretty seriously when I'm labelled a rascist.

Like Original Dub I took offence at the use of the word Fenians and referrng to the Irish as the biggest racists on the planet regardless of the origins of the person who said it. To me this thread had the makings of becoming an Irish bashing thread which is why I posted my comments.

The Northern Irish and Scottish on here know that when someone is calling another person a fenian bastard he is not being racist but sectarian. It is a hate filled word used when referring to a Roman Catholic, and not just any particular one but all in general.

Most intelligent people know full well how many Irish citizens fought and died in both world wars fighting for freedom and liberty and most intelligent people in the crowd respected the silence.
The scum minority unfortunately can be heard at such times and acted in such a way as to, hopefully, ensure once and for all that that club with it's scum element of fans along with Rangers which i class as equally bigoted should NEVER EVER even be considered to join our league.That shit SPL is going downhill fast and the sooner both clubs go out of business the better. I fuckin detest BOTH Glasgow clubs with a passion.

I know mate, I wasn't trying to get at the majority of folk in the thread... the fact that you say that folk 'stuck up' for us Irish should explain to Alex and others that there definitely was a feel of anti-Irish from the get go in this thread and we weren't over reacting.

Besides that, yeah the fools who were singing were a disgrace... but the fault IMO lies with the organisers... there are factions in Scotland that hate the English and will look for opportunities like this... for the life of me I can't understand why they don't just stick with the cheering and applause for lost heroes... that way, knobs don't get heard. i'm from Northern Ireland and would echo these comments. i detest both clubs and it will be a sad day if they are ever let out of that fcking joke league that they are in.
