Time for Silvinho, a bit experience, to have a go. Bridge has the attributes to be top class, hame he doesn't know how to use them.

Greatest 1 footed player I've ever seen!
He might as well have his right foot amputated because he has no idea what its for!

I though I was slowly starting to warm to him but I realise its now just because I feel sorry for him, like a lame pigeon

Whose job is it to tell Bridge not the cross the half way line then?

IF he is not under any instruction then he clearly needs some,

Its possible he is being told to bomb it fwd and add an option to the attack. Maybe he shouldnt bother, or maybe he just needs to make better choices and when its right to bomb up the wing, and when to look up and see 6 players already ahead of him who should be more than capable of creating a goal.

truth is we dont know what the situation is behind the scenes?

I can understand what you are saying crossie, and he must be told to go forward. However, surely a player of his calibre(!?!!!) is able to adapt to various patterns of play during a match, and use a bit if discretion and common sense with regards to going forward. If Wayne was to look at that game, surely he would admit he was more of a hindrance than a help

From my vantage point in the SS he was as gutted as the rest of us when they got the third.

Give the guy a break I was /am not his biggest fan but last season he was perhaps 'rusty' and he has done very well this season, he's now fit and trying to forge a relationship with a dodgy back four.

Sorry pal he is a liability

Goal One: Lescott is obviously to blame, but why was he covering the LEFT back position in the first place? Bridge was too slow covering a ball into his channel, and went inside to cover a run into the Centre back position...OK good awareness.

Goal Two: When Barry brought the ball out of the area the following players were behind Bridge....Given, Lescott, Zabaletta, Toure, Adebayor, Ireland, plus Barry....7 Players

When Burnley won the ball, Bridge was ahead of Bellamy and SWP, meaning we effectively had a LEFT-back as the second striker!!!!! that makes 9 Players behind him when they win the ball

It's not rocket science....he doesn't get paid £80K a week to play jumpers for goalposts stuff. HE GETS PAID TO FUCKING DEFEND.

Goal Three: Ball forward bounces off the Burnley player. Bridge then opts not to put a challenge in when looking at the player with ball, & under two yards away, before seeing the cross to Fletcher. Even at this point having looked at the cross, he WALKS....not RUNS back into the area. I'd also blame the central defenders for not covering the run from McDonald, but especially Zabaletta who should have been much deeper to cover Fletcher (?) on that RIGHT hand side.

OK I've had the benefit of looking at Football first, but the facts remain the same, everything came from THEIR right side today.

In addition to the above, just before halftime, Bridge came out of the area with the ball lost it around Midfield and WALKED BACK. Barry was five Yards ahead of Bridge and had to sprint back to cover his channel. Added to this how often is Bridge in line with the two strikers & Stephen Ireland hugging the touchline? Go through the tape and count!! HE IS ALWAYS WAY OUT OF POSITION GIVING HIMSELF A LOT, OR TOO MUCH TO DO.

There seems to be mass confusion at times with Ireland bickering with Lescott & Toure, or certainly telling them what to do. I for one cannot wait to get Onouha back and shift Lescott to left back. I thought Lescott was better today, but still shakey in the air at times.

As for Bridge, and I hope you read this sunshine...GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER, HAVE A WORD WITH YOURSELF...YOU ARE A LIABILITY AND YOU COST US AT LEAST TWO GOALS, and and additional TWO POINTS TODAY.

Rant over...And Embarrased by Socrates...but I'm right!

This about covers everything, I think
Great job!

No coincidence our left backs and right backs seem to be having a nightmare in the side at the moment.

I think the whole back 4 are struggling badly and we need a top class defensive coach to sort it out.

I'm sure the idea of having Barry and De Jong in midfield was that they would cover for the full backs, when necessary, as he wanted the full backs to supplement our attacks.
But I'm sure, or I can't believe, that the intention is that they should be completely negligent of their defensive duties, as Bridge, and Micah Richards when he played, all too often has been.

Either Bridge is a left back or he's an old fashioned left-winger.
He and Hughes and our coaching staff need to make up their minds

sick to death of moaning about bridge really. he seems to be undroppable for some reason. we have a champs league 2009 winner on our bench and this guy throwing games away for us countless times. i was happy when we signed him, but then i questioned how good he'd be for us after seeming to be happy sat on chelsea's bench all the time. obviously its because he knows he's very overrated and was earning a world cup spot and championship medals purely on reputation rather than merit. Sly from now til january please then make a big signing to give us quality.

I'm hoping Jolene is a left back because he certainly isn't looking good enough for central defence!

I think Bridge is possibly the best out and out left back we've had for quite some time, that is not a compliment.

I would like the club to have a better option for our first 11 as he is not meeting requirements but I also believe he would be a decent option for the bench.
