the last few weeks we have been very poor, the tactics have been very poor, individual players performances have been poor, collectively the team has been poor, we have lacked leadership on and off the pitch with no sign off improvement, only for the fact that the teams we have played against have been lowly shite sides and they have missed some great opportunities to score we could be on a streak of 4 straight defeats instead of 4 draws.

Here in lies the problem, some feel that because we have drawn the last 4 matches then that means there are no problems, they feel the 4 draws means everything is rosy in the garden which is absolute bollocks ,the only reason we are 4th is because our poor form has been matched by that of teams around us,but it doesn’t change the fact we are playing like a bag of shit and actually look like we are in decline.

yes we are 4th for now, with one league win in the last 6, but we are playing very poor, our manager is showing his ineptness again, things are not rosy in the garden, A derby at home to Burnley is now a must win game, and who knows if they have been watching videos of our last few matches they might fancy them selves next week, it is only a matter of time before our lucky draws turn in to defeats when the quality of the opposition improves.

I for one won’t be surprised and I think Hughes could soon be History, if you can’t see things getting much worse as a possibility you are deluded, the warning signs are there for all to see

Perhaps we would if you would acknowledge that this might just be a blip and we might actually improve after these results and end up in 4th place? Or does your hatred of hughes prevent you from doing that?

Well I am not sure that any CITY fans feel there are no problems - I think a lot like me are frustrated that we have missed a real chance recently - we could be top 2 - certainly clear 3rd - so I am disappointed

But having just got back from the match and reading all the negativity (mostly usual suspects) - the comment I would make to your suggestion that CITY fans not being negative are deluded - is that genuinely you guys need to lighten up - if for nothing else lighten up for your own sanity and quality of life!!

Whether you are a Hughes hated / Lover or fence sitter - one thing that is stunningly crystal clear for anyone who is not totally unable to be objective is:

That Hughes clearly enjoys the total and utter support of the owners and there is not a cat in hells chance of him going anywhere / being sacked etc. So you might as well calm down and get behind the team - because it is all just a total waste of your energies.

FFS - the owners were right behind him through the difficult times - for what reason would any objective person think that 1st November lying 4th with a game in hand is going to be making them anything else other than very very happy.

Now things can not really go that bad between now and xams - so he will not be replaced before the January window - rather I would expect more support manifesting in 2 significant signings - RB and MF

But it is blindingly obvious - and anyone who thinks otherwise actually is deluded - he will not be going anywhere until the end of the season

So you might as well all just chill and get back to supporting CITY - FFS just think if we do qualify for CL - he will be here for years and years - so you do need to find a way of handling that or you will all have a thoroughly miserable time as CITY fans

You know the Sheikh watches the games. I can't see him being happy about that performance today.

Funny, when we are shit its a blip and no blame should be attached to the manager. When we are on a good run he is a genius. The fact remains that we have fucked up badly recently and we will pay for it later in the season, the players aren't playing to their potential. The only player that was touted to have improved under Hughes has been poor recently and now can't get in the team. There is something not quite right here, but its obviously nothing to do with the manager and his staff.

Quite often its the opposite - when we lose its Hughes' fault and when we win its the players. Depends what side of the fence you sit on.

so basically it seems that people want hughes sacked, last time i checked city are in the top 4 with a game in hand.. so retarded club outside real madrid would sack their manager for being top 4, we may be on bad run but least we are not losing.. all you who think hughes will be sacked before seasons end are dilusional at best

I don’t think anybody wants him sacked yet mate.

The general consensus seems to be that we are playing shit, but you either think this is just minor blip and normal service will soon resume (with Hughes being such a phenomenal manager and all that ),or that it’s a sign of things to come and those that think different are deluded beyond comprehension..

Either way I expect he will last the season regardless.

the way i see it is he needs time, outside mourinho managers never really have success straight away.. if we say top 5 consistently with cup wins and european football then i would give hughes as long as he likes really.. he is still a younger manager and is still learning. Hughes has been best manager in last 10 years, we actually look like a professional outfit, under sven and keegan we were a rabble and never gonna win anything or get close for that matter

No manager has ever spent the amount Hughes has that quickly either. When you do that, the pressure is on.

I'm thoroughly disappointed with today's result, but, taken in isolation I would say it was an off day where we were awful but still got a point away from home - that's what the top 4 have been doing for years. The problem is, I thought the same about the Wigan and Villa games. I even tried to excuse the Fulham game with it. When we were poor in patches against Wolves, Arsenal and West Ham I took the same consolation that we were getting results without playing well, but maybe, just maybe, we've been lucky so far. When Sven started, he had a great run up to Christmas, but anyone who was at the games could see that we were getting results we didn't deserve.

The big question now is are we a poor team, albeit one full of exceptional players, who will struggle to maintain our position and end up about 6th or are we a top 4 team going through a bad patch who will improve as the season goes on? Only time will tell.

Good post

Makes me laugh how far the doom mongers will go

4th in the table with a game in hand...and we are not even playing that well...when we get back to business we are in the right position to do some damage.

We've only lost once all season...once...yet the knives are inexplicably out already

I think we both know that's a load of bollox mate.

When we win there is not numerous threads started about how we are going to win the league and how we should extend Mark Hughes's contract and other such farcical, exaggerated crap.

That kind of thing happens ONLY when we don't win from the same people. Those who think fourth with a game in hand isn't good enough.

Maybe it's those who think that the season is judged after 38 games...I seem to remember you saying that last season. In fact, when I tried to point out our poor league position you were quite vehement over NOT looking at league positions. And while we are using the word fourth, the only thing that should matter is we are on our fourth draw in a row. Third performance in a row where we were second best and not the first time you have posted the same crap. (It's like 12 days of Clueless)
