4 Points in a possible 12

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

4 Points in a possible 12

Postby sandman » Sun Nov 01, 2009 6:07 pm

And these were not games we necessarily deserved to win.

How can you people defend Hughes.

He Is Simply Not The Right Man For The Job!!

Simple as!!

He has a squad of amazing players and all the support in the world coming at him both morally and financially from every angle and he cant even manage reasonable results.

This is not a pathetic kneejerk reaction to one draw, it is a fact based on four draws against opposition outside the top 4.

It's not the results as such, I could stomach them, but the way we are playing. We have played absolutely horrendous football for a while now. No matter how good individual players we have, we are going to win fuck all with that football. Simple as.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

they were abject today. just horrible. hughes just can't seem to get them to play. seriously, outside of given, who did anything 2nd half? woeful. swp is not they player he was. what the fuck has happened to him? don't know where to start with them at the minute. but for a crap pen and a decent stop, we'd be losing today.

that said, how was that not a pen on tevez, or is it rugby now? mike dean could not wait to give them a very dubious pen and conveniently missed ours. odd that. not.

it's not knee jerk sandman, fair enough. you have an opinion, i happen to agree. we win nowt under hughes.

Is this a team ready to gel?
Is this a team motivated?
I just don't know
4 points from 12 sounds piss poor for a 200 million pounds team but there again
three of four games were away from home
we are in quarter finals of league cup

but

hughes just doesn't inspire me with his motivation, his tactics, his substitutes and his general nous.
maybe it's a learning curve for all of us?

So fucking what? We need to get results away from home as well if we are to progress.

nqd, spot on. this is birmingham, we are talking about. birmingham, who are clearly crap. we were one save away from a defeat. and wigan ship 4 at the awful pompey and we never looked likely to beat them at any stage of the match.

Sure, let's take our away record last season into consideration then...

Fair enough. Considering he has been in charge for three months now, it's too early to call for his head. Give him time and let him bring his own players in. If he had had any money to spend that might be fair but look at what he has had to work with.

Yes, it's slightly better now. But can you honestly say that you are pleased with the football we're playing at the moment?
We've been playing gash most of the season, but have been able to grit some results out. that's not really what I had envisioned, given all the signings.

250 million, more than any manager could possibly dream of. wow. i think it is totally reasonable to question his proficiencey, absolutely reasonable. sacking him now would be silly, but i am not bracing myself for a top 4 or even top 6. playing like this, we will really struggle. and that team selection today was half baked.
