Petrov definitely deserved a place in the starting line up imo. I would've liked to see Ireland as well. I think and hope he's coming out of his slump of form. SWp looks like he needs a rest as well.

If I was Petrov I'd be well pissed.

Shit news that there's no Ade

that is a stunning mistake by hughes. seriously, not going with the red hot petrov. good one hughes, good one. yet swp, who has been truly awful, starts. stunning.

Eh, there's plenty of them in the starting lineup.

We've got Bellamy, Santa Cruz and Tevez on the pitch though so there's no real need for one.

If we have the same lack of drive from midfield again I would expect Ireland to be introduced early on.

Think we should wait till after the match to say hes made a "stunning mistake"...for all we know Petrov might have a slight knock......

Interesting line up - windy day , gritty opponents - maybe not a day to start with Superman and Petrov but we´ll have to see how things develop

Weiss should have started over SWP maybe he thinks hes playing it safe? I think we are starting to see them baffling lineups again from last season and we didn't bode too well with them last year. Luckily we got better players this season but hes still a baffling fella and he is the manager he obviously gots a plan :p.

I'm baffled by the fact that as soon as we get our best header of the ball fit we drop the best crosser of the ball at the club, even though he's been in great form.

Sadly, 6 of the goals were scored by Robbie and Ade...so I guess we are down to 3-0.

But no true strikers amongst them. RSC is not up to it and the other 2, whilst excellent players, are not strikers in the true sense.

Unless Petrov is injured this is really is a puzzling team selection.

Yep you're totally right. We should have brought Benjani into the squad.
