Manchester City have been placed on alert with the news that Barcelona striker Thierry Henry has fallen out with coach Pep Guardiola. Daily Mirror
Thierry Henry could be on his way out of Barcelona - and that may put Manchester City on red-alert.
Former Arsenal captain Henry, 32, has struggled for fitness and to adapt to coach Pep Guardiola’s rotation policy this season.
Spanish newspapers yesterday reported that Guardiola has fallen out with Henry and may be ready to offload him in January.
Henry is already a target for MLS side New York Red Bulls next summer but big-spending City tried to sign the brilliant French striker before and are keen to strengthen their squad in January.
Barcelona are also keen on City’s Brazilian international Robinho and that may tempt the Spanish club to see if a swap deal is possible. Henry had a difficult start to his Barcelona career but fought to become one of their biggest stars last season and won the European Cup. World Cup winner Henry will not want to give up now, especially ahead of next summer’s World Cup finals and the Frenchman is desperate to be fit for the play-offs with the Republic of Ireland.
