Although my viewing of his comeback cameos have been restricted to tv highlights, I'm eagerly looking forward to him getting an extended run in the team.
What stood out in both of the sub appearances I've seen was his complete calmness when receiving the ball; his ability to make space for himself when receiving the ball while simultaneously wrong-footing his immediate opponent.
And his immediate selection of the right option.
Of course it would be premature to judge him on cameos, not least because any player can look a World-beater in a 5 minute cameo.
And then there's the question of what his defensive contributions are likely to be if and when he eventually returns
(I well recall the last time he had an extended run in the team he was frequently found lacking in that department, although I'm willing to allow that he might not have been fully fit at that time)
Even more than the debut of Roque,....its the return of Johnno I'm most eagerly looking forward to
(because he really could be that 'missing link'!)
